Latest Check-Ins

Needles campground. Some sites are first-come, first-served but by mid-March it was already so busy. Pulled in at 830pm and the only spot left was an accessible spot that is saved until 8pm. After 8pm, anyone can take it for one night - amazing offering, saved my butt for the night!

Report Check-In

Access is no longer free during winter season 🙁

This campground was renamed Elephant Hill Campground. There are 26 sites. Some are available for reservation and others are first come first served. We were fortunate enough to find a vacant site for the night!

The Needles Campground has 26 individual sites, plus 3 group sites in different locations around The Needles district. Nightly camping fee for an individual site is $20. You can reserve some individual sites spring through fall on recreation.gov. Other times of the year, individual sites in Loop A are first-come, first-served. During winter months, water is shut off to the campground and no fee is charged. Loop B is closed during winter months. No water hookups are available, faucets are for portable containers only. Awesome spread out campground with site not to close to each other. Flush toilets during spring/summer/fall, only pit toilets in the winter months. Garbage and recycling! Cost is $20 during open season and free in the winter (no ranger programs or visitor center open). No cell service at the campground but if you hike the trail that takes you to loop B we got Verizon service up on top of the rock there. Great hikes from the campground!

Report Check-In

Campground B is currently closed, campground A has about 20 sites and tends to fill in the late afternoon.
