Nice wild camping close to a boulder (our kids loved climbing it!). Depending on where you park you can have a nice view on the mountain at sunset, be protected against the wind by the rock or not being viewed from the dirt road going along the fence. We stayed there 2 nights, going into Spitzkoppe conservancy area as "day visitors". Entrance of the park is at the rest camp.

Very nice place to camp! Good sandy street. Beautyful sunset, very calm.
It was a bit windy.
Pleasant, very quiet location with a beautiful view of the site. Beware of the deep sand if you are not in a 4x4.
Report Check-InFantastic place right next to the mountains. We absolutely loved staying here.
Just one thing... Please use a spade for your poop and take your toilet paper with you so that other Overlanders can enjoy a clean, neat space as well. Covering it under a rock is not a solution. Thank you 👍
Report Check-InNice spot, very quiet ! But around 10pm we saw 5 peoples with light, very close to us, they saw us but they didn’t come
Report Check-InBeautiful spot, but very windy! We tried to use the boulder as a break, but the wind was coming from all directions. Two friendly locals passed by and gave us a wave.
Report Check-InIndeed wonderful place to camp. Protection again the wind, Some firewood. Beautiful view from top of the rock and noone around.
Report Check-InA very nice place by a great boulder that offers some protection against the wind. A beautiful view on Spitzkoppe. We cleaned the place from the leftover rubbish :-( So it is now clean, for the upcoming visitors.
Report Check-InAmazing spot. I had very little wind but still used the rock as shelter. No noise, nobody around, great views.
For me the must difficult was getting to the place. But in the end i guess you can come in from both sides (East or West). Just ignore “Lodge” signs and go straight
Report Check-InNice camp just behind the big boulder, just outside Spitzkoppe park - very quiet - stunning view
Report Check-InWhat a great wild camping spot! A bit windy but the view of the stars and pure solitude made up for it. We overnighted here, got up early and stopped in at the conservation area. Also, don't miss the big crystal shop on the way in/out.
Report Check-InAwesome place. Bit of wind but you can angle your car near the huge Boulder to create a wind break.
Stunniinnggg sunrise and sunset.
The landscape is flat and open so you get long lingering sunsets.
The mountain in the far distance ensures the morning gradually gets burger and then Boom, a stunning red / orange sun rise.
Definitely a great wild camping spot before entering the conservation area.
