Latest Check-Ins

The road is currently closed. Probably because of the flooding.

Report Check-In

100% recomendable. We didn’t make any reservation, just walk-in 35$ no hookup.

Report Check-In

very nice campground, gates are closed from 10pm to 8am so you can't go inside or outside the camp during this time. There was a sign saying campground full but we still tried and they had some sites available.

Report Check-In

The price for a campsite with no hookups is $35 now. Not bad, considering proximity to San Francisco. They have overflow parking as well for $8, which comes with no fire pit or picnic table. I showed up and they said they had spots although the website didn't show any availability; apparently they want you to reserve a minimum of 2 days in advance. But they will happily let you pay for a spot at the gate. You will have to return to the gate every morning to re-up your parking spot if you do this daily method.

Mobile service is intermittent on T-Mobile. Seems a bit more consistent on Verizon. My campervan has a signal booster and I was reading 3MB down for T-Mobile, and ~11-12MB for Verizon.

Absolutely gorgeous park.

Beautiful views of the lake (pick sites 69-73 for the best views). Clean, quiet. There are turkeys walking around. Firewood $10. Rangers very friendly. $35/ night + $8 transaction fee. Phone service decent for Verizon (5G), okay for AT&T/T-Mobile.

Report Check-In

Large campground with electrical hook up, drive up, and walk up sites. Firewood for sale and shower/facilities are open. Lake Chabot 30 min walk down the hill.

Report Check-In

Beautiful campground in the hills outside of Oakland in the eucalyptus forest. Lots of mountain biking trails. If you have pets, beware of ticks and poison oak. About 20 minutes to the BART station. A great spot to be near SF! (We heard that it can be super dry and dusty in the dry season.) There are funny rules about reserving a spot. You either have to do it several days in advance. We just showed up and there was a spot but we couldn't reserve it for our whole stay even though there were no other reservations on the books. We had to get up each morning and go back to the entrance kiosk and pay for it daily. Regardless, a lovely area and super clean campground.
