Description

There is a nice common area, but only one power outlet. If you are not sleeping in your vehicle you might be asked to park your car outside. Not a lot of space, but it is possible to fit at least three small campers. Two toilets and shower are available, and there is a common area on a roof-covered terrace. WiFi, but only near the terrace. Excellent location a couple of minutes walk from the main plaza.

We stayed 4 nights in the garden of Pension Topas (there is room for 3 campervans). The host speaks fluent English and will give you all kinds of tips for visiting Boquete. There is a swimming pool, nicely maintained and just big enough to cool off. There was also a trampoline for the children and the possibility to wash your clothes. We felt very welcome! Fernando makes the best pizzas! We recommend it.

Report Check-In

Came back after 2+ months of leaving the van in David. Spent 6 nights. New management, and the family is very nice. Fernando speaks fluent English and Spanish. Clean pool. They have a dog named Troba who is very loving. He was on a small 2 meter leash all day when I arrived and seemed pretty down, but I upgraded him to a much longer setup so he can run around. He likes to play with the tennis ball and appreciates any attention that guests can give him! 🐶

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a few nights. Wash room and shower was clean, nice little area with tables. The pool was pretty cold. Great location to explore the many restaurants, cafes and brewery in Boquete. Secure and pretty flat area to set up the camper. Cost $14 for two people to camp/night.🍁

Been stuck here for 3 weeks due to the protests over the mining contract. We lucked out big time. Level parking for our van. We parked next to the house to plug in. Potable water with a hose connection. A very cold pool to swim in when it is clean. Nice green grass and fenced in, perfect for our dog. Wifi works well throughout the whole property. Hot shower (for as long as propane lasts here).

Carsten is the manager and super friendly. He’s from Germany and speaks English. Since we are staying so long (because we are stuck), we negotiated to $10/night for 2 people in a van. We feel it’s fair.

Nice outside but covered area to work in when it rains. A really peaceful place. Can definitely recommend!

Only negatives would be that the kitchen is not that practical and has a sink that’s barely big enough to wash dishes. And one of the workers cuts grass every other day, which is super loud and fills the van with gas fumes. Also, I still had to pay $10 even when my girlfriend flew home. So $10 per vehicle, not $5/pp.

Really awesome location with a beautiful park just down the street! Try Sugar and Spice for sourdough bread, vegan donuts, and a killer vegan burrito.

Report Check-In

Cheap backpacker hostel vibe. Comes with all you would expect with that. We've backpacked before travelling in a truck, so it's fine with us. Didn't find anything particularly strange. Great option to be right in town and enjoy a night out on the town for the first time in months. $12 USD for couple in a roof top tent.

Report Check-In

Pretty decent option for camping in Boquete, which is kind of a pricey town for lodging. They told me $6/night for camping with my moto which felt reasonable for a safe & tranquil camp spot, a place to park the moto, and use of the facilities.

While the main common area and garden are very pretty, there’s a little bit of a strange vibe with lots of people coming and going, and the owners almost never being around. The Wi-Fi was medium good, sometime it would drop out, then be better. The shared kitchen is a mess - crowded, often dirty, almost no fridge space. The main shared bathroom is also really bad, the sink and toilet had water issues (either not working or running all the time). Hot water worked for me in the shower. The second secret bathroom described by a previous user no longer has a shower.

Overall I liked my stay here, and spent 4 nights camping. I also spent one night in a shared room and it was a much more high class feeling with an excellent shower. I’d stay here again, but feel like the place could be so much nicer with a little care.

Report Check-In

the place is okay. but not welcoming. price 12$. the workers/volunteers are not here most of the time.
hot shower works sometimes, sometimes not. garbage is not being evacuated as needed.
but it's close to town and generally okay.

Report Check-In

Was a perfect stay, 12$ fee per camper per night. Very close to good restaurants and the center of the city

Report Check-In

Still $12 for two people and a van.

This place is pretty great and is probably the best option in Boquete. But there are caveats.

1. The main shower room (that is connected to the kitchen) isn’t always hot. Because of water pressure issues, the propane heater doesn’t always turn on. But there is another ‘hidden’ bathroom around the corner, part of the main building. That shower is always hot.

2. This place is generally quite safe. However, there are a lot of non-guests coming in and out. Friends of the owner’s family. For this reason, where never felt truly safe to leave our van unattended with the doors open.

But the land is flat, trampoline is fun, and the garden is beautiful. Axel, the owner, mostly keeps to himself, but is friendly.

Report Check-In

Nice safe and quiet place to park or pitch a tent. $10 for the 2 of us, reasonable.
Good option, would recommend

Report Check-In

This was a really nice stop on Boquete. They have a nice big yard for RVs as well as parking out front; we are a van and it may be a bit tight to get in the gate with a bigger rig. The place is well located close to town and the facilities were well maintained and nice. Also, best shower we've had since Mexico!

Report Check-In

Stay here, you'll love it. Secured parking. Clean toilets and HOT shower. Small kitchen. Good WiFi. The dogs were friendly! There is a clean pool but the water was cold so we didn't jump in. The common area now has an extension cord so there are multiple outlets to plug all your electronics. And it was a perfect walking distance to town. We paid $12USD per night for two people. Recommended!

Report Check-In

Everything as described, totally recommended!

Report Check-In

10$ pn, fast wifi, good location. We fit inside with our big ford transit 3.1m high 7m long. Much bigger will be difficult.

Report Check-In

Decent place, but they have a parrot and toucan in a small cage that doesn’t look like they’re having a great time. If we had known that before we wouldn’t have stayed here at all. We moved and preferred the free camping spots around Boquete and the RV Park, where the staff and owners are absolutely wonderful.

Report Check-In

Nice relax place. We paid $10 per night for the two of us camping in our own tent.

Report Check-In

good option. well located stayed 4 nights.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay! Still 12$ for a van. Potable water and electricity directly at site.
Perfectly fresh in the night!
Recommended!

Report Check-In

Still $12 for two in a van. Super quiet, sweet dog, water, kitchen, slackline, sparkling clean pool & great proximity to town - highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Perfect. 16$ four of us. Kitchen, bathroom, hot shower and WiFi. Close to the center town too.

Report Check-In

small camp area.I was asked 'discounted' $8 for a small solo tent.A bed in a room is that much .did not stay ,got lucky no1 else in the dorm!

Report Check-In

We spent 4 nights and the dog(s) didn't bother us at all.
Got a couple of great tips from Axel.

Report Check-In

Nice friendly owners, camping in grass , $6pp, cleanish facilities. Great location. Wifi slow to average.

Report Check-In

Close to town. Room for about three medium rigs. Flush toilet bathrooms and hot showers, cleaned daily. Kitchen with stove and oven. Electricity. Cute common lounge area. The poor old dog didn't give us any problems; we could pet her and everything, but owner said not to go near get at night because her eyesight is poor. unfortunately during six days we stayed there the WiFi was pretty bad, so I'm downgrading it to slow for time being. 12$ night for two in van.

Report Check-In

Everything is cool about this place except for the dogs. They attacked my dog twice during my three nights stay.

Report Check-In

Still $6pppn. Pretty good value with the pool and facilities. Bathroom was always clean. Great location for walking around town. We really liked it here. We are 3.3m high, 2.2m wide & 6m long and just fitted in. Much bigger will struggle with the gate - there's no height bar, but would probably destroy the tree branches over the entrance. Dogs look a bit fierce but we had no problem with them.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for 3 nights. Cost: 12$ per car. The gate is small: more or less 2.50m wide, so for big rigs it could be a problem to enter. The campground is very nice and the little town Bosquete as well. The owner Alex showed as the hiking options. We ve never seen such a lovely rain forest than on the Quetzal-trail. Its worth to visit the place!

Report Check-In

Had a very good time in Boquete thanks to the Topas campsite. Camping is in front yard of this pension. Price was $12 per night for 2 persons and a car with rooftop tent. Shower was good and warm, toilets not always clean. Small kitchen with basic items included. Good WiFi, friendly owner who has good advice about the surrounding area. Boquete is a vibrant town with lots to do and great restaurants. We especially liked retrogusto restaurant. Walked the pipeline trail as adviced by the owner and the quetzal trail (very beautiful) the day after.

Report Check-In

Other reviews are spot on. $6 pp with electric and potable water. The best HOT shower we have had for months. Good wifi on terrace, which is great is raining, decent small kitchen too.

Definitely be wary of the dog with the patchy eye - it would have killed a local cat if we hadn't intervened.

Report Check-In

Nice overlander place in Boquete. Fits up to three vans/campers. Hot water showers, kitchen, small pool and nice common area. We paid 6$ per person. Very calm and quiet during the night.

Report Check-In

Enjoyed our stay here. Nice family. Dogs were both friendly during our stay. Wifi in common area works well. 3 rigs would be tight but doable. Power and water available. Great location, close to town.

Report Check-In

Nice place and base to visit Boquete and surroundings. Hot shower worked well and the kitchen was ok. The covered sitting-area is nice and important in raining-season… We payed 6$ per people per night.

Report Check-In

Nice place. we brought our very docile dog. rotated w owner for walks. The dogs still a bit scary.

Report Check-In

Price still $6pp. We hooked to power. There are two laundry places nearby: $3.50 and $4 a load. Quiet place at night. Good location off main Street quiet. Owner has two dogs, be careful around the one with black circle on its face at night as it has poor eyesight; it's been known to bite and did bite someone while we were here for which the owner compensated the medical bills for. There really should be a sign.

Report Check-In

Very nice place. Good atmosphere. 12 USD per vehicle. Yes it's their front yard, but you're quite a bit away from the street. Tents can camp behind the buildings.

Report Check-In

This place is in wrong location - it is located at 8.77286, -82.43208

Report Check-In

Grassy front yard for parking and camping. Very nice covered common area. Shared kitchen, bathroom with hot showers. Axel, the owner is friendly and accommodating. He gave us great local hiking tips. Walking distance to town including to the delicious Boquete Brewery and local markets. $6 per person to camp. Hostel rooms also available.

Report Check-In

Good place to stay in Boquete, just a short walk from the main plaza, market etc. Nice common area with terrace, pool, mini zip line. Height restriction due to the zip line that you have to pass to park. We just fit with 2.6 m. Might also be possible to remove zip line if you are higher. Clean bathroom, though only one which meant waiting in line during the busy times in the morning. Good wifi but only on terrace, doesn't reach parking lot. Friendly owner who had advice for nice walking trails. Dog well-bred. Laundry just 100 m south, but not very reliable service, maybe better take the one in the town center. We paid 12 USD per night.

Report Check-In

As former writers said you basically camp in there front yard but it is a very nice place overall. You can access a small kitchen and also a bathroom with a toilet and a shower with hot water. For our car also power supply was possible. There is also Wi-Fi on the property, but the best signal is in the back yard. Its a good location to discover Boquete. The owner speaks German, English and Spanish. We paid 12$ per night. You should definitely check out the Sugar and Spice Bakery around the corner, also Boquete has a really nice market with fruits and vegetables in the town center.

Report Check-In

Great place. Clean toilet shower/combination (with TP), to be shared with some rooms. Tiny kitchen nook. Grassy spot, swimming pool, good wifi, covered terrace. US$ 12 per night (2 persons + van). We stayed 2 nights. Be aware that the gate is very narrow; we just fit with 2,2 meters width. Length and height are no problem (though no really big rigs probably). You are basically camping in their frontyard. Dog did not bother us. Suggestion while in Boquete: do the coffee tour with Coffee Adventures (Dutch and English spoken, US $ 35 per person). Learned how to do coffee cupping. Nice.

Report Check-In

Nice clean place. Found the owner friendly. Looks like they are building another couple rooms. Tight for my Tacoma.

12$/night, nice place, showers are in bad condition but the water is warm, small kitchen

Report Check-In

We were 5 campers, and it was crowded, but we had a lot of fun and interesting discussions. But 5 campers actually seems to be the limit. We payed 12 $ for two people.

Report Check-In

Funky little place. $12 for two people. Didn't get signal in our van but only in the common seating area. Mini zipline, slackline, good sized pool (but way too cold to swim!), hilarious parrot. Easy walk to a 24 hour grocery store.

FACT: I got bitten by the pit bull from Pension Topas in Boquete.
FACT: Axel (owner from the hostel) let his 27 year old daughter
(owner of the pit bull) in charge of this situation and she just loved to play a power game, enjoying the fact I could do nothing as a tourist
(leaving a statement at the Municipio takes one month before the police can take action)
FACT: I do not want to tell the long painful story in detail about everything that happened because my letter would be to long and also
is totally unnecessary because one should assume that a client has the same rights like their dog about walking freely on the property.
What I do want to tell is that at first they took responsibility and drove me to the emergency hospital where the doctor took care of the profound bites, prescribed antibiotics, anti inflammation pills, an injection against rabia and needing to go back to the hospital for the next 5 days to take care of the wounds they could not stitch because of being dog bites. So this first visit to the hospital &
medication was paid for by the daughter with a really long face but the extra 5 days I had to visit the doctor, buying cream, gazes, pills for the pain,etc... to take fully care of my wounds to be able to heal properly she did not want to pay for anymore also not for my ripped outdoor pants.(mentioning to me loads of excuses why she was not responsible)
In total I paid $82 out of my own pocket and my pants of $ 65 I will have to pay for myself to replace them as well.
So I put this warning in the hope
nobody else has to go through this really bad experience. There are a ton of other hostel options to find in town Boquete without taking the risk of being bitten and/or treated like I was.
FACT: From talking to neighbors and nurses I am not the first one who got bitten by their pit bull but I do honestly hope I'm the last one.

Report Check-In

A great place to relax in a cooler climate. Friendly owners still $12 for 2 people. The hot water to the shower isn't working and it's freezing cold, they are hoping to get this fixed.

Report Check-In

$8 per tent per night. Secure motorcycle parking. Good hangout area with tables and chairs. Con is that there isn't a kitchen or washing up area but they are in the process of building one. Easy walk to the center. Friendly managers.

Report Check-In

We had to park outside the gate because we were too large, but could use facilities (even electricity with an extension cord). The showers have boiling water, no kidding (we had to bring containers with cold water to mix with) and the pressure is very low. We did the pipeline trail by ourselves and went on the pianista with Feliciano (local guide) to see both oceans from the top of the continental divide. The flower feria isn't worth a stop. At the Garden Inn it seems you can have breakfast in the garden with a lot of birds.

10 US/night. Includes electricity, and hot showers, wifi available on covered terrace.

Pension Topas is a guesthouse run by a friendly German, and he will let you camp in his garden. Not a lot of space, but it is possible to fit at least three small campers.
