Description

A free option just down the road from the municipal campground. In our opinion, a more scenic option. Fire pits, tables, a Parilla restaurant and a few toilets. Check it out - if it's not your thing, there is the paid option just next door (open only in season?). I think the paid place was 100 pesos per adult, and 60 per child over 5 years old. We stayed here 2 nights with another overlander and had no problems. Free.

We came for the campground but it closes at 18 and we came a little later. They guard was very friendly and told us we could sleep at this square. We spent a nice calm night here. Nice place with a few tables.

Mandatory stop! It is very close to Montevideo and has an incredible view of the Rio de la Plata. You cannot stay overnight in the park out of season. But it is possible to sleep in the little square next door, just let the guard know as they close the park at a certain time.

Very nice place, a bit hanging with a lot of shade.
Space is cleaned daily, as are the sanitary facilities, very clean.
The restaurant in the park is not always open, not reliable!
Unfortunately there are many mosquitos in the area.

Lovely spot! Even though there's tons of signs saying no acampar they allow travellers to stay up until 1 week. Very sweet guards working there. We stayed in the end of the park next to an old rusty trailer/wagon ish as reccomended of the guard on duty as his favorite spot. Fishermen day and night and families doing the day doing picnic. we stayed 3 days. lovely place

Public BBQ area with view over the Rio Plata. we stayed for 4 days. weekend all full. but all alone in the night. it's closed for the public in the night. they just allow travelers to stay overnight. just ask at the entrance. hey even offered us their hot shower. potable water just near the toilets. If you need, bad cellular reception, bit better on the access road. Amazing free place.

We stayed one night after asking gate keeper.
He willingly accepted.
night is very quiet and safe.
good place for staying.

A brilliant free campsite which.. at first glance has no overnight camping but if you ask nicely at the entrance Oficina and perhaps offer (like we did) to pick up a little litter they will allow you to sleep over a couple of days. don't be surprised if you are the only ones there during the week. water and toilets and a load of barbecues!

this is a huge area with different functions. Julio the gatekeeper noted my name and let us in for free. First part is barbeque area. Second a smalle beach at the river. Further a campsite that was closed out of season. afterworth a huge area indicated free camping. We started at the beach with view on the Isla de Flores lighthouse. In thé evening five families with kids stayed on thé beach untill dark. Later only two friendly dots cared for our van all night.

Nice barbecue and picknick place, directly at beach, shady with lots of trees. Camping is NOT allowed, NO ACAMPAR signs at several places. But we came late and asked at the gate and it was no problem for 1 night to stay there.
