Something not right?

Description

Nice BLM campground with fire rings, some with metal grill. Private and secluded in winter but probably not in high season. Some dispersed and more secluded sites exist a few miles further up the road in turnouts but it was raining and cold so we opted for this one lower down the canyon.

Nice shady campground. We enjoyed our stay. There are no other on the ground. Perfect 👍🏿

Free Gila Forest CG. Dispersed sites, most on the stream facing a high rock wall. I am sure it will be shady in summer, there are tall cottonwood trees throughout. Quiet and rustic, no electric, trash bins, or dump stations in the entire Forest around the Dwellings. NO trash receptacles. Take it out, please.

There are rings here, no tables, and 2 vault toilets. Most people here seem to camp near the entrance but if you drive further back on the road, there are many more spots. The water sounds lovely and the rocks glow as the sun sets. It has been pretty empty in the cgs the last 4 days with high gas prices but I am sure summer will bring crowds of people.

Great free camping along stream. About 15-20 sites. Pit toilets, fire rings, no garbage so pack it out.
Lots to see and do in this area. Very quiet in Feb. we only had one other camper while we were here.

I arrived at 4pm on Saturday and was surprised to find that I was the only one there. I drove back awhile, but eventually ended up at a campsite on the river near the entrance, across from the toilets. The sites seem fairly private. You're at the bottom of the canyon so there's minimal sun exposure. The toilets aren't bad, they definitely smell once inside, but not terrible and plenty of tp.
One other van arrived at dusk and went further back. Felt like I had the whole place to myself & the only sound all night was the river!

Nice spot. River sites were taken but available sites along the bluff. Quiet and the price was hard to beat.

Definitely OPEN now! We have a lovely, large, level, secluded, stream side campsite. Bare bones amenities include a pit toilet and not much else. But it is quiet, free, and close to the cliff dwellings and trails.

Gorgeous campground with a spot right next to the river. This is a free campground and it has a pit toilet as well as a fire pit. The spots are large and the place is beautiful, it’s not too far from some hiking trails and the cliff dwellings

Report Check-In

As described but currently day use only, campground closed presumably due to Covid.
