huge parking lot for the backpacking trail. website says they allow overnight parking and we did not get bothered staying here for a night in a suv. close to a road but near the back of the lot was quiet.

Nice big flat car park, tends to get busy at the weekend as there are some great hiking trails. Stayed 2 nights with no problems.
Report Check-InLarge well light gravel parking lot at trailhead. Moderate road noise even at the farthest spot. Stayed in 25' class C for 7 nights in a row from 9pm to 9 am. Visiting family in a deed restricted community that doesn't allow overnight rv's. Saw law enforcement in the lot setting up a speed trap. No knocks but other cars overnight but may be tent camping on trail.
Report Check-InHuge level dirt parking lot. Big field for a dog to run in. Excellent hiking trails. Good Verizon cell service. My fav overnight spot in Central Florida.
Report Check-InHuge parking lot, a bit noisy. Leveled terrain.

Report Check-InThere were 8 vehicles in the lot when we arrived at 9:00pm, including a few small motor homes. Tons of space between vehicles. Friendly trail crew showed up Sat am to build a bridge.
Report Check-InAs described, lot in a big field at the trailhead. There are what looks like new (since Covid) signs asking for a $2 day use fee (State of FL forests) but it seemed like a gray area with parking overnight and just using the lot. .
I arrived early, 3:30-4 and started cooking a/ a sheriff vehicle pulled in the check on things and then parked near me to watch the road for about 45 minutes. Never interacted with me though, zero issues.
There was a couple with dogs in a van who overnighted, and a few vehicles for the people (registered/reserved) camping along the trails. Had no issues, didn’t leave until 10am the following morning.
Admittedly the noise from the road is a bit annoying as the speed limit is something like 55. But no worse than a wal mart or rest area. . . Notably many times better :).
I didn’t pay, but I did attempt to via the reportedly new online payment system. Couldn’t figure it out. . . Perhaps it was down for the holidays.
