looks like lots of people still stealthing, but somebody did a call to the sheriff's office for my shuttle bus and I got a knock at 7am threatening a cite the next time apparently all of Dana point is illegal for overnight vehicle camping

Report Check-In

I slept in a suv on the street outside the park for 3 nights with no problems. Great trail, beach, and bathroom access!

Report Check-In

Signs everywhere saying the parking area is closed from 12am until 5am. Would not take the risk, cops were driving by frequently but it’s a lovely place to spend the afternoon. Just find somewhere else to sleep.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately got a violation from Orange County stating no camping or parking of recreational vehicle. Not a ticket but a notice. Pretty loud at night here on a Friday as well, with young kids partying till about 3am.

Report Check-In

Stayed here with no problems. Parked up in the car park to cook dinner etc then moved to the road to park, many other vans. A sherrif stopped by to move on some people hanging out it the parking lot at midnight but didn’t bother us (we’re in a bus so totally not very stealth)

Report Check-In

Très calme aucun problème sur le côté de la route, nous avons bougé le matin pour avoir vue mer sur le parking,

Be aware, Sheriff is cracking down on overnight parking on Selva. Tickets issued for “cargo vans” & lots of knocks. Beautiful place but, not worth the hassle.

Nice spot to park During the day, Beautiful ocean views from my van.. we also took a really nice walk along the side area overlooking the ocean and the beach. plan to park on the side street as others have mentioned for tonight. I hope all goes well...

This is very nice place. Been here more than once but only stayed overnight each time. Sadly around 4:30 AM today we got a knock on our door by the sheriff’s department and asked us to move and per City of Dana Point Ordinance, no overnight parking from 10 PM - 6 AM. We were told residents have been complaining. Saw about 5 vans parked with us.

As everyone says, lovely and quite place where you can park for free during the day in the parking lot and move at night on the street to sleep.

Report Check-In

As previously mentioned. Quiet street. Perfect spot for the night. Felt super safe

Report Check-In

Parked in the lot during the day to get some work done and enjoy the beach, the moved to the parallel along the street for overnight. Felt safe and not much traffic at night.

Report Check-In

Stayed 3 nights in this area. Can’t park in the parking lot overnight but the side streets on either side of the entrance are fine. There is a “land management” patrol that comes around 8 every night and stays in the lot. There are street sweeping on certain mornings so just be sure to move your vehicle beforehand. This park is so nice, with great views, and lots of other vans/RVs.

Report Check-In

Great park with nice views. Starts to fill up before sunset and empties out afterwards. Clean bathrooms open late and street parking right out front is easy including a nice turnaround near the bathrooms to get faced the right way. Quiet overnight but fair bit of traffic in the morning. Facilities are open as of this check in despite being marked closed.

Report Check-In

You cannot park in the lot overnight, but apparently it is okay to park on the street right outside of the lot overnight. Just not on Thursdays.

Report Check-In

parking daytime perfect, no parking between 12am and 5 am. but streetparking near by is fine. signs with sweeping days, quite at night, noise starts at 5 am.

I’ve lived in this city in my van for almost 2 years and never been bothered sleeping on Selva road, but last night I was woken up by a police knock saying it’s illegal to sleep overnight. The officer gave me this -> (municipal code 13.04.210 Camping.) Not worth the risk.

Report Check-In

A few other vans and smaller RV, parked out here too over night. a few parking spaces may fit larger rigs. Lots free parking No noise, street lights, felt safe and quiet. Thursdays 6a-10a street cleaning no parking. You’ll get a ticket.
