Description

Great gravel bar next to Buffalo River. Camp with caution, as high water can rise quickly & sweep you away during rain storms!

Latest Check-Ins

lots of space to find a spot to park & lots of stones to skip on the river. its all rock, i used my 4HI to get to the spot i stayed.

Report Check-In

This is the gravel area near the vault toilet. A Park Service representative said it was permissable to park here overnight. "People do it all the time." Good enough for me. Officially ok to stay here.

Super nice spot on the river. If you go around to the back by the cliff there’s a deep spot where you can jump off the cliff. There were only 3 people coming overnight but by noon the place was full of swimmers. Don’t need 4WD, 3 bars of Verizon service.

Place was awesome!

+ Clean
+ Not many bugs at all, surprisingly
+On a Monday, there was only one other car visible. A few stayed further down the way, out of the main area.
+ Gas stations/food only 5-10 miles away
/ Handful of people in and out just enjoying the water.
/ Water was really low, maybe a 12-18 inch.
- Road noise, if that bothers you.

Very quiet overall. Some road noise if that bothers you.

If I'm even remotely near by in the future and need a place to sleep, this is it.

Rock bar (not sandbar) on the Buffalo River at Hwy 65 bridge. Lovely, a lot of use in summer.

Report Check-In

large gravel bar right on the river. room for several small vans, cars, trucks, maybe a small RV, but there is a small and a little steep dirt road to exit. no services, at&t is extremely weak but ok with a booster. use caution as high water will flood this area.
