Best place in Ushongo for camping.

Very friendly staff, gorgeous pool.
Drinks are expensive at the bar.
Not much shade in the garden behind the bandas.
You can also leave your vehicle here when going to Nungwi by public boat.

Annette and Mary are such wonderful people. They are very accommodating and open. Beautiful location right on the beach their eventual plan is to add bathrooms and showers. In the meantime they let us use the Banda. The snorkel tour was amazing and we had the whole island to ourselves. They are starting to charge but it’s 20 a night and I think a large part of that was getting us access to the Banda. Which compared to some of the other place we stayed is more then fair. Their place is also feels well taken care of and beautiful. The other places we stayed along the coast or looked at were very tired looking and not much care was apparent. Definitely recommend you staying here if overlanding or biking.

We found the Emayani Beach Resort on IOverlander and asked if we could stay here with our big rig for a few days. When we arrived, it turned out that we are the first campers who ever asked if they could camp here. But we were more then welcome. Since the property is very large, a nice place with a lot of privacy was prepared for us under palmtrees, right on the beach with sea view and a pleasant breeze. We received a very warm welcome and were allowed to use all the amenities of the lodge, such as the restaurant, bar and swimming pool. The food in the restaurant and the cocktails are very tasty and the prices are more than fair. In the future the management may consider to further establish and expand the area for the campers. At the moment the place is more suitable for self-sufficient campers, as there are no services direct on the "campsite" such as a power connection or an ablutionblock. But however, you can use the beach showers and toilets in the restaurant- and poolarea and also fill up your fresh water tank there. That wasn't a problem for us because we are completely autonomous and self-contained. We loved this place! It felt a bit like wild camping with a lodge connection. If at some point the places for campers are ready, this place could become a very popular insider tip on the coast of Tanzania. Basically, what you find here is exactly what most campers are looking for! The location and the whole area of ​​the resort is beautiful and very well maintained. The managers and staff are all very warm, helpful, attentive and hospitable. This place exudes a very special energy. We could stay here for weeks and highly recommend this place!

You can also do boat transfer from here to Zanzibar and back with a private boat. it takes around 1,5 hours. You will find the conditions at the photos.

Great place to spend a few days. Newly renovated with nice restaurant and pool!
