Beach in front of Sal Marina restaurant. Camped there free of charge, girls who run it allowed me to use their shower, toilets and a hammock free of charge after dinner I think a lot of people confuse this place with El Pirate literally next door that is owned by a drunk crook
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We stopped here for the night on our way to Bahia de San Agustin from Santa Maria del Tule. Very basic, just a place to park, really. Bathrooms/showers looked too scary to use so we didn't. Motion sensor light on most of the night but entertaining to see all the geckos clambering all over the outside walls chasing the bugs the light attracted.
Very windy. Restaurant is closed on Mondays so we did not get to eat there. 200 pesos for a class C with 2 people. Kind of a rip off but we did not want to risk boondocking in unknown territory.
If you get up early you can see the sun rise over the Pacific!
Report Check-InComing down M190 and M185D from Hierve del Agua this was our first stop at the coast - and it was hot! We stayed one night on our way to San Agustin and Puerto Escondido and another on our way back from there towards Tuxtla. Friendly people in the restaurant where we had dinner on both nights - no costs for overnight parking and we spend very quiet nights there. Access road was fine for our big rig (9m length, 3.85m height).
Report Check-InNot sure where the confusion is stemming from for this location. The entrance to Sal Marina restaurant is as clear as day. There is a giant blue archway with Sal Marina written over their entrance. If you look to the left of that entrance, you will see a rundown looking building called "El Pirate". Sal Marina offered to let us stay for free and use their restroom / showers for free after dining there.
The food is good but a little pricier than standard fare in Mexico.
Report Check-InTo the right of "El Pirata" restaurant with normal prices. When we asked about the possibility of pitching a tent next door they had no problems, without any charges. Clean, internet, shower, sanitary facilities, good food.
Report Check-InMaybe once it was a nice place, now the owner simply rips off people and charges exorbitant fees for everything. Pitching a tent 100 pesos, internet access 50 pesos, poor quality fish and salad 280 pesos, no shower, sanitary conditions are sometimes better in wild camping... Just beyond the "fence" a normal looking restaurant with normal prices, internet access and when we asked to pitch a tent on the beach in front of them they allowed it without any charge... "El Pirates" definitely not recommended! Take the same road but at the end of it choose the place on the right "Sal Marina".
Report Check-InThis restaurant is a dump hole, no running water, owner is a drunk and to top it off, he charged me 15.5$ usd for a piece of over fried fish. This guy is literally shits in a hole, no running water, he washes dishes in a rain runoff from a disgusting barrel next to a toilet. Shower is from the same barrel
As im writing this, I worry that I’ll have a stomach bug after eating at his dirty joint
There is a place literally next door, that’s where I was going originally, they have a clean kitchen, real restroom and friendly girls who cook for you

Report Check-InThis is a first time I felt unsafe in Mexico in a month. The owner tried to hit me but missed after I complained about 15.50$ usd he charged me for a piece of stale, over fried fish with some iceberg lettuce. He saw a gringo and decided to take advantage, this is unacceptable.
He is drunk out of his mind, blasting music, his place is is a dump. He washes dishes with runoff rain water and you take a bucket shower from the same barrel.
He charges 5$ usd to camp on a public beach near his property while restaurant next door, where I was originally going allowed me to stay for free, use their real toilets and showers at night and to use a hammock as well as a table to work.
I’m guessing he manipulated reviews here to attract customers
Please avoid and go to the girl’s restaurant next door
Tranquil beachfront location. No barking dogs or crowing roosters. $5 a night. No electrical or water.
Had dinner at the "restaurant". Camarones. Prepared by Israel's wife.
The roads are good. Mostly paved to the campground.
Much more pricey then the other restaurants along the beach. Price for camping is now 150mxn. plenty of space to park you car anywhere. but yes for showers and bathrooms
Report Check-Insuperb fresh fish for dinner, friendly people and an amazing beach. very quiet overnight. toilets, shower and wifi
Report Check-InGreat spot. We paid 100 pesos to sleep in the restaurant parking lot. Very quiet, secure and with access and view of the beach. We did not use the toilets. I recommend
Report Check-InIsrael is the name of the owner, he is wonderful. The view in the night of the sky and the morning sunrise. Out of this world!
Report Check-In$100 for camping. Flat spot behind the restaurant facing the beach. Free if you eat there. They have WiFi and basic bathrooms.
