Santa Fe National Forest. One spot but maybe more down the forest road. Very quiet. 1 bar T-Mobile. No service AT&T
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
almost everything north of Spence hot springs is buried under a few feet of snow. you can chance it and camp in “day-use only” spots like picnic areas and trailheads but that’s up to you.
between Santa Fe and the hot springs there’s basically nowhere dry to camp for free. i had to head up to Cuba for a good spot with service.
very tricky to camp near the hot springs in winter!
Report Check-InGreat spot. Great views. Made it in my 40’ skoolie however NOT FOR FAINT OF HEART. great road paved and maintained. But tighter than Mexico roads one lane and tight tight corners so drive super slow to avoid collisions. This spot was big enough for 2 possibly 3 big rigs or campers but you’ve got to be good at maneuvering because there’s not much room. If you are smaller or 4x4 you can park in LOADS of camps along this road. (We explored on our mountain bikes). Fantastic spot. I’ll add the worst of the road that could be slippery while raining but should be okay 2x4.
Report Check-InAt least one spot but probably more in this forest road. Road a little bumpy but passable without 4dw
