Approx 20km on gravel/rocky road from the town of Radium Hot Springs. Approx 5 free Campsites. first come first serve. with picnic benches and fire pits.. Some sites closer together than others. Dirt biking can be heard nearby. Otherwise quiet lake. Stayed one night on weekend. Noted some other “unofficial sites” made and used by others. Would stay again. 6 sites with a nice lake view. Pit toilets.
Good free recreation site, it is pretty remote and took us about 40 minutes from Radium Hot Springs as we took it slowly the last 15 mins.
2WD can easily get here and the road was great up to the last 15 mins where there was the potholes.
Directions:
Google maps got a bit confused! It tried to take us a shortcut way but it was a steep off road track. We went back to the main road and carried on and it went well.
Google maps said we were at our location but we needed to drive a couple more minutes so the lake would appear.
We were making our way to this spot and the access road was very pot-holed (after passing the spot labelled ‘Riverside’). We’ve been down worse but we’re not in the mood for the slow progress this evening so turned around before reaching the lake.
