Latest Check-Ins

I am surprised of all the positive reviews about anywhere on this road. The road is terrible. Not level, potholes, trees. I checked out two different spots. One was covered in trash and the second had a full homeless person set up. The views were gorgeous but I didn’t stay. Not worth it.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 1 night. Late September so water was pretty low. We stayed at the boat ramp. Beautiful sunset and amazing reflection of the moon on the water.
There is what looks like a permanent residents in a tent with her 2 dogs (on a rope). The dogs barked a bit but nothing too bad. She did not bother us at all. We could not see her from the boat ramp. It looks like the forest service has a few boats on the water nearby. 2 boats left around 9am.
When we left, the “permanent” resident had moved her tent a bit further back. Maybe not to be bothered.

Report Check-In

Pulled over to spend the night here. As noted by previous posted some road noise. Beautiful view of the lake awakened us. We stayed up top. Quiet. One other rig sleeping but they also got up early to leave. Perfect swimming spot if you wanted to linger.

Report Check-In

Flat, Quiet. Got the front row spot 🫣. There is a “long term camper” set up but didn’t bother me, drove off and came back.. but stayed in her camp.

Was 99 deg @ 6pm when I got here cooled off quickly and pretty serene. Star-link worked great!

Report Check-In

great spot for a night or two. easy access to the water, views from the hills. could fit 5-10 vehicles in 3 different little flat areas. would not recommend large RVs or trailers

Report Check-In

a lot seems to have changed, at least in april 2023 the place looked very different. the lake was quite full. much fallen trees and landslide. it looks like these are the results of the storm. the ground was level and solid, there was a small fireplace. we just made it there with our 29ft RV. everything very clean and quiet. beautiful sunrise at the lake. the police even went on patrol in the morning and didn't say anything. I took some recent photos with a drone for you.

Report Check-In

Came in at night & took the hill to the bottom. - narrow, steep, windy road, with many trees down. Wouldn’t recommend anything longer than a 24ft van. Big speed bump at bottom. Not a lot of room for multiple rigs. Was nice for the night, not bothered. Some road noise. I’d recommend camping at the top of the hill by the transmission lines.

Report Check-In

nice little camping spot if you're on a road trip and don't have much time to look.

Report Check-In

Only people here. Gorgeous view. Several sites. Picked up some glass but overall clean.

Report Check-In

Great place, really scenic. We came in at night (40 ft school bus) and the road was fine. We parked up on the road where there are two gravel parking lots at the end of it the first night since it was dark. And then the next morning we went down to the cliff. The road down to the cliff was super super sketchy in a 40 ft rig and we regretted doing it. Not looking forward to getting back up. But the view is exceptional and it’s really really quiet. Occasionally you can hear the highway but it’s rare. Some nights it’s also quite windy

Report Check-In

It's a dirt lot next to the boat ramp, decent cell reception and was pretty quiet. The lake had very little water which could be why it was so quiet.

Report Check-In

Gate was closed to this spot when we arrived. All the other spots along this lake weren’t worth it so we continued on

Report Check-In

a little background noise from highway, but otherwise quiet camping spot

Report Check-In

Stay for two nights but was allowed to stay 14 nights since it’s a National Forest. Drove my 22ft travel trailer here with no problem. A ranger did come to check on us and ask for ID. He only looked at the ID and didn’t run anything, which is kinda of weird. The view is kind of nice and you can barely hear the highway. There is a lot of suns and no shade to hide on this spot, but if you park in one of the pull out before here, you will find shade. There is access to the lake and a lot of fish as we saw people coming here to fish.

Report Check-In

We went there with a 32ft class C, no problem, just drive slow the road is narrowed by the trees, we stayed 1 night there, really beautiful place but some road noise, don't lets your dog alone at night there is many skunk around. plenty of space for big rigs, there were several RVs when we got there.

Report Check-In

Stayed A couple nights no problem. In the space above the boat ramp. Water is very low. 2-3 cars came by everyday to go down to the water/ramp area. There is a street light so not too dark even at night. You can hear some traffic from the road. There’s two levels with a fire ring each and some trash had been left around. I fluctuated 1-2 bars AT&T and 1-3 bars TMobile, steady enough to work off of and do video calls. Overall beautiful spot to look out over the lake.

Report Check-In

Nice views. Multiple sites, some with makeshift fire rings. Always been a bit busy both times I've come.

Report Check-In

Went down the former boat launch ramp and camped over looking the lake for the night. Beautiful spot. Two ramps, one on either side of the spot, lead down to the water where my dog enjoyed some morning fetch before we moved on. Beware of broken glass and cockleburs, would recommend thick soles shoes for this area.

Report Check-In

We went down the concrete road that was probably a boat ramp in wetter times. Beautiful overlook. 2 bars ATT before WeBoost. Nobody else here.

Report Check-In

Good place to stop while traveling on I5. Private. Verizon cell service. Good view. We didn't encounter trash like others reported. Road was paved most of the way- no issues.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet place to stop for the night. Right off the highway, clean, and almost full 4G LTE with Verizon. Be careful at night, lake is gone and a pretty steep drop off if you venture too close to the edge.

Report Check-In

Parked next to the towers. Low on signal for telephone, just spent the night and felt safe.

Report Check-In

Rough road down doable in a sprinter this area not it’s nice and

Report Check-In

As described. Faint highway noise. Good cell service. Nice view.

Report Check-In

Not sure if I could make it down to this area in heavy rain in my FWD Promaster, but on a clear day this place is great! It’s currently very clean, but I did a lap around the grounds with a trash bag to grab a few extra pieces of trash laying about. I suggest you do the same to keep this place pristine for the rest of us!

Report Check-In

the road leading into the spots is thin but paved, the campsite was very nice, big enough to turn a 25 ft skoolie around. unfortunately the lake Access is now a hike from this spot because of the drought. the lake level is down a lot. overall very nice spot, good sun but also lots of trees for shade if you want it.

Report Check-In

nice spot! clean up after yourselves and it will stay this way. didn't feel like stealth camping in Redding so we drove up here for the night.

Report Check-In

4 spots in this area. 1 is prime right on the water. Large flat spots with fire rings. 2 bars Verizon coverage.
