Little dirt road with a grassy opening that can fit cars and tents. No “no camping” or private property signs. A bit close to the road so some noise but not bad if you’re in a van.

We decided to go car camping in the winter since we wanted to visit Lake Placid the next day. After driving in, we turned left to follow the loop and stopped in the middle to park for the night. However, our plans took a turn when we noticed something unsettling: there were more than 20 deer carcasses lying on the ground in front of us. This made us uneasy, so we opted to find another spot to camp. Perhaps someone else might be braver and stay, but we thought it was better to play it safe.
Report Check-InForest Ranger told us this is a State Forest Preserve and it is illegal to drive vehicles on that land. You can park along roadside and walk in and tent but that is it
Report Check-InStayed here overnight without issue, but don't recommend it (especially for anything bigger than a van.) It's basically a turnaround that's surrounded by an overgrown area. There's a highway very close but the noise died down pretty early on.
