Description

Unpaved road with tons of BLM dispersed campsites. Verizon cell service with full bars. Was able to drive here in a van without 4WD or high clearance. Nice views of the mountains and salt flats. The specific site at these coordinates is large enough to fit 6+ vehicles. There are at least 3 fire rings! Far enough away from major roads that it’s extremely quiet. Would definitely spend another night here!! Very tranquil.

Latest Check-Ins

Lots of places to stop along here - road is a washboard but take it slow and no issues for most vehicles. Plenty of places for larger rigs, too.

So beautiful and quiet! Lots of bugs, even in the middle of October. No toilets or any other amenities, except a fire ring.

Amazing spot to camp out. A lot of stars, great views over the flats and a lot of spots you can pull up into. Road was bumpy but definitely doable in a 2wd lower clearance car, bigger rig friendly. A lot of space between spots too. Make sure you park your car with your nose or back towards the mountains though because of the winds at night (temp drop), gets hot early. Easy to level your car. There are makeshift firepits but the sign at the entrance of the blm specifically states no campfires. You can easily hike into the mountains for even better views. I saw a couple jeeps and higher clearance cars drive into the mountains and come back out the next morning so you can literally camp out everywhere here. Did see couple of gun shells but heard no shooting.

Salt lake flats very secluded , beautiful views. Exposed to sun / weather could be harsh we used awning for shade. Good to hike in morning before gets to hot. Gas station close by. Good for the dog

Great camping up and down this road, although a bit exposed. The road in was washboard but the road and sites were hard packed gravel even in the rain (unlike the salt flats themselves). GPS wanted me to turn at the first right to the salt flats (which has a turnaround at the end if you do that) but if you have the map up it's obvious where to go. Happy camping!

Nice large pullout off the dirt road with plenty of space for multiple vehicles! Dont need high clearance. You Will definitely drive past other campers but this spot seems very secluded with the small mountains encompassing the open area where we parked our tent. Very quiet and protected from the wind and beautiful views of the salt plains.

Nice place with desert in front and mountains behind, at 300m from the road, so nice for the dogs, internet very fine 5g 3 bars

Tons of places to park. No Fires signs, but lots of rock lined fire pits. Nice hiking area. FYI wind blows up the canyon or down, park accordingly.

Plenty of campsites along this road! It was quiet, spacious and pretty. Off of an unpaved road but easy to get to in a Tesla. Highly recommend!

Great BLM around Bonneville Salt Flats/Speedway called Silver Island Mtns. There are many sites available with level or near level parking. We stay annually for 1-2 wks getting extra water, groceries, propane etc. in Wendover. Very beautiful hiking, big horn sheep, and of course the Speedway itself. Be very thorough washing your vehicle after driving out there! Salt rapidly corrodes undercarriage & brake assemblies.
