Description

Moderator Note: Caution. The User reports that they did not stay overnight. We look forward to more check-ins to confirm suitability of this Place.
.....
We didn’t spend the night here as we had to push on for the day, but would definitely have stayed if we had time.
Directly across from R.Lambert Grove.
**This spot would only be suitable for 4x4 vehicles.**
There is a road on the left that turns off of Avenue of the Giants, it is very easy to miss and not signposted at all. Very quiet and peaceful, no one here. This spot is a little gem of a place. We were here in June and the river is very low so lots of open space, I imagine it would be different after heavy rain.

No camping allowed here since it is in the state parc. A singe at the Parking lot and the Ranger that knocked on our door said no to camping

Great place!!! Steep and bumpy entrance to the river bed but I didn’t need to engage 4x4. It has a gate (which was open) with a telephone number to call if you want access. Once in the river bed you can drive up or down the river to find the place you like most, by the water or the forest. Nobody came in at all.

Report Check-In

This spot is absolutely beautiful. Redwood forests, and a nice gravel bar with a river flowing nearby. I spent the night here and the better part of the day exploring nature.

notes: Good Verizon signal. You'll have to follow the dirt road down the slope to the gravel area so you're not camping on parks land, which is not allowed. I would suggest 4 wheel drive as getting back up the slope might be tricky without it. it's rutted and has very loose gravel.

Overall a beautiful, quiet place to stay.

not exactly sure where this post is talking about, but there was a road with no camping signs. probably shouldn’t stay here
