Wonderful alternative to magnolia especially after wandering in at night and not finding anything there. Others have expressed that this spot was very busy but I found a spot before reaching the “Peewink Mountain” spot up the road. The road was a little rough but made it through fine in my sedan.
Report Check-InGood spot for one night, surprisingly quite a bit of traffic still. we did not venture into the dirtroad further, but parked at the junction. popular place, woke up with another van next to us.
Report Check-InFYI - On Verizon and t-mobile, there is enough signal for text and MAYBE a phone call. Even with booster and LTE external antenna, not enough signal if you’re a digital nomad looking to work.
Report Check-InDirectly off paved road 122 less than .5 mile. Beautiful flat clearing next to sugarloaf road. Easy packed dirt low clearance friendly. Camp is surrounded by large boulders and scenic overlooks to the east. Small walking trails all around. Busy sugarloaf road is nearby so lots of passing local traffic. Saw Moose in the area, lots of droppings. Nice fire rig we built and plenty of wood to scavenge. Close drive to Nederland. Plenty of cell signal. Wildflowers.
