Get off the main road and there is wild camping all over. Follow all the way to the end and you can hike Rainbow Hotspings, 5 miles one way.
Nice road for any car! Lots of fresh water flowing ... enjoy

West Fork, just before the NF campground there’s a decent area on your left. Choice of in the open or by trees. Fair amount of traffic on the dirt road but it’s fine. Stunning views of the cliffs ahead. Very nice place to camp.
Report Check-InWe camped a little before the paid campground in a beautiful clearing right off the FS road for four nights. Good service with ATT but no service with Verizon. There’s a fire ring and nice trail to the river. People drive down the road during the day but very quiet at night. It does back up to the paid campground but that didn’t bother us. Road is not bad but there is a narrow bridge but wasn’t an issue for us with a trailer.
Report Check-InThought it was a good idea until it turned a bend and was pretty snowy, oops too late! chains got us out but definitely don't want to go down there in the winter if you don't have snow tires and high clearance.
