Description

Big flat gravel lot across the street from the state park. No “no overnight parking” signs. Little beach and two porta potties. Directly adjacent to road so there is noise but good for a night.

Beautiful to wake up to the water, and we had no trouble

Report Check-In

There’s a sign no camping but we stay for one night with no problem. The state park on the other side of the road told to a van there’s nobody checks. We were 4 van / rv for the night. A bit noisy in the morning or late in the evening but nice spot with view on the lake.

Report Check-In

Great little spot!
Right on the water.
Enough space for 7 or 8 single vehicles.
Portapotty in the east corner which was pretty clean.
Gorgeous water views!
The road is right next to the lot but the noise wasn’t too loud.
If you’re heading to Grand Isle in the morning definitely stop at Wally’s for coffee & breakfast!

près de la route mais le trafic diminue le soir, très belle vue!! Je recommande

Very very very noisy place. Next to the road, you hear very well the cars… and the others sleepers ! A lot of people come here to take a break.
Very beautiful view, with lake, birds and calm fishermen. Pit toilets are ok
Pay attention, one side of the place has a sign with restrictions (no camping, no dogs, no fire…) the other side is without sign …
Ok for one night.

Beautiful place. Only 5 cars at night. Lot of spaces with water front. 2 cabin toilets. We stay for a night. Enjoy a lot

Report Check-In

Beautiful place
, very big parking, a little bit noisy since it near the main road.

Report Check-In

No problem staying here for the night. Also a beautiful view right on the water.

Report Check-In

Nice place but did have drunk kids wake us up at 1am by banging on our door on a Monday night. Probably not the norm.

Report Check-In

As described- minor road noise, great sunset, wildlife, 1 dirty but not disgusting porta potty. Good cell service on all 3. There was a fisherman leaving shortly after I arrived around dusk, and a few others stopped in to use the porta potty, but otherwise it was empty. Would stay again.

Superbe spot, au bord de l’eau, avec plein de place. Dommage pour le bruit de la route qui passe juste en arrière.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for about 5 nights without any issues. Nice space, plenty of room, beautiful view of the sunsets, just a bit of noise from the road.

During the day we drove across the street to the state park that was shut down for the season so we were able to enter for free and enjoy the park pretty much all to ourself which was really beautiful.

The state park had an electrical outlet that was still live, were able to plug in and charge up during the day while we worked.

We headed back over to the empty lot once it got dark out as it was posted that overnight camping at the park was prohibited.

It was a blast! Will definitely revisit.

Camped in the car. The stars were gorgeous here. There were a lot of cars passing on the highway and it only ebbed down after 10pm. Hunters came in around 7-8am but didn't bother us.
There is one porta potty but no access to water for washing your hands.

Report Check-In

Solid place to stay. Tons of mosquitoes, so bring your nets or get to bed early. Highway noise is not bad although it's close to the parking.

Report Check-In

Really amazing sunset views! The traffic died down at night and really couldn't hear it with fans going. This place was pretty littered with trash. I picked up an entire bag when I was there. Please do your part and help clean up these areas if you stay so that we get to keep enjoying places like this!

Also a local said the water is contaminated from a nearby farm's cow manure run off. So, maybe don't try to swim or let your dog drink the water. But still a really amazing spot and great to push off with a paddle board or kayak!

Report Check-In

Add no problem sleeping there, one dirty toilet available but very noisy in the morning, we put earplugs at 5 am. Nice place for kayak/SUP.

Aucun problème à dormir là, il y a une toilette, mais c'est très brillant le matin, nous avons mis nos bouchons à 5h du matin. Belle endroit pour kayak/paddle.

Large parking lot across from park, beautiful sunset. Agree about road noise but it does quiet down as mentioned. We stayed 1 night no one bothered us.

Oh my GOSH whaaat! STUNNING! I can’t believe we can park here overnight for free!
“Camping” is not allowed but overnight parking is.
Please treat this beautiful place with the upmost care. Don’t set up shop and pack it out!
The road is loud at night, even with earplugs but as others mentioned, the view makes up for it.

Amazing view of lake Champlain and the sunset. Stayed one night - pretty quiet, just some road noise, but it quiets down at night and wasn’t bad at all. Big lot with lots of space, just keep an eye out for the potholes!

Report Check-In

Nice place. road noise died down after dark and started up again after 6am. met some pretty cool people

Checked with the Sand Bar State Park Ranger about overnight parking. No problem. Accommodated us. We have a 30’ Class A with a toad. We were able to turn around at the north end.

Report Check-In

We didn’t have any problems parking overnight here. Backed our truck up right to the kayak launch area. Amazing sunset views. Agree with the sound but it wasn’t too bad. Only noticed the car sounds around 7:30am.

Report Check-In

Definitely a nice little spot right on the water. Great sunset views. As stated right across from the state park and yes next to a noisy major road. But it does quiet down around 10pm. Also if you have fans going like I did you can’t even hear it. Only staying one night but would stay here again.

Report Check-In

Yes, it’s right next to a highway but the noise isn’t too bad. The views make up for it 100%! plus there’s frogs
