Something not right?

Description

At the memorial, they have a very nice campsite with full ablutions. You can also camp on the paving if you like. Extremely friendly staff. There is a serenity about this place that is hard to explain.

Patson, the park manager is well knowledge-based and will give you a good idea what village life and traditions are all about.

The road leading to here is a bit rough but we'll worth it.

Cost $15

Latest Check-Ins

The (official) prices displayed on the ticket office are still US 15 pp for camping and further US 15 pp for the site.

The ablution block is in a terrible condition! Nothing works anymore....and this after such short time!!!!!
When we arrived there was no water at all. Some "engineers" had to come to fix it. The handles for the water sinks in the men sector were loose and the shower handle "was gone". The water had a "nice brownish" colour.
The women are slightly better off. The water was clear but the handle for the shower was also gone!
Lucky is the owner of tongs in such a moment!
But the luck might be short enough. As the second person under the shower there might be only some drops left...
Fair enough ...they asked "only" for ZMW 600 for two person for camping & site (we walked around alone).

Report Check-In

Paved parking area to camp on under shade trees. Ablution has no lights or hot water.

Fees USD15 pppn plus USD15 to enter. No SADC agreement.

We had a personal guided tour through the Livingston mimorial by Mr. Patson Mumba. We entered the actual hut Livingston passed away in as well as the place his heart was burried where the current monument is erected and a very informative Information Center.

What an awesome experience. The mission work started by Livingstone was confirmed by the Government of Zambia that this country will be a Christian country! Glory to God.

We negotiated the fee for visiting and staying overnight at the parking to 500,- Kwa. It was worth coming here, but the fees they ask from international guests are just crazy, giving the visit a bad taste.

Report Check-In

Camping on the parking lot inside the heritage site next to the village. Flush toilets but no light in the ablutions block and no hot water.
They actually try to charge 15USD pppn for camping AND 15USD pp for the site. The site consists of a naked room with tableaux to read, a TV which is not working, a hut with a scene of Livingston dying and the black memorial.

We paid 500 Kwacha for two and wrote a letter of complaint.
