Description

***Seasonal closings*** open April through Sept.

This was one of the only places we found to stay near Denver and it was convenient to the city to be able to run errands. It's also about 2000' higher so it was a bit cooler especially during the recent heat wave. It's a City of Denver park, so you have to sign up for an account even to see the availability (maybe this is why there were open spots). They have something like 30 sites, but about half were "tent only" even though a few vans seemed to stay in them no problem. All the RV sites have water and electricity, with only 4 full hookups. Dump is pricey ($23) but understandable since they have a tank they have to pump out. $23 tent / $30 for 30A RV / $32.50 for 50A or FHU. Bathrooms were fine and showers were $0.25 for 2 min. Close to I-70 which means it's only about 15-20 min to Golden but some highway noise. Wasn't an issue in our bus but those in tents might not enjoy it. Included Wifi was ok but really slowed down in the evenings with everyone on it. Cell signal on Tmobile and Google Fi was spotty (1-2 bars), usable but not great.

Was hoping to stay here tonight. Couldn’t understand why the online reservation process wasn’t working. Called the campground phone number and there was a message that it closed sept 24th for the season. Bummer.

Good spot only 5 minutes from the Evergreen Walmart and other businesses, 10 minutes to Golden. Didn’t go to Denver but it was 20+ minutes away based on traffic. 10 degrees cooler here than Denver. Pull thru 5 was great, bigger open space than other spots.

This was the only campground I found available on Thursday night near Denver. Up the 70 it’s about 20 minutes from the city. Quiet and pretty, sites are a bit close together but it didn’t bother us. Water and electric hookups. Super clean restrooms with showers for pay (not sure of the cost). Friendly camp hosts.

Lovely campground in the front range. Close proximity to Denver. Site 8 and 22 were very spacious for a 22ft travel trailer and a large truck.

Overall convenient. As others post note, need to make reservations online in advance. We booked the same day on a Saturday and there were still a few spots available. We arrived late and a check in pamphlet was waiting for us with our name on it. RV spots are close together. Hot showers are clean and quarter operated . 25 cents for 2 min. $32.50/night
Right off 70

Convenient location being so close to Denver + Red Rocks. If you’re sleeping in your car, definitely get an RV site because parking for the tent sites is not level at all. Sites are really close together. Not the greatest campground but not the worst.

As described previously. Set in a pine grove so some shade. Nice place for the one night I stayed.

Easy to get to, close by the highway. It was $23 for tent camping. It was great for a quick and nearby spot but you could definitely hear the highway traffic

Report Check-In

Good place to camp. No marijuana smoking!

Super friendly campground. We could not create a account., because we are not us or CA citizens. The campground host managed a account for us so we could stay there.

Cute little campground just off the interstate. As mentioned, you need to create an account to reserve a spot, and even then the system is fussy. It won't tell you what spots are available, so I had to call as well. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful though.

The spaces are small, close together, and not the most level. You can hear the highway from anywhere in the campground if that bothers you. The showers are coin operated and hot hot hot! 25¢ gets you 2 minutes. We bought a roll of quarters and lived like royalty in there.

I had 4 bars on Google Fi so I never checked the WiFi. But I was told that space 5 was a great one for connecting.

cute little campground. free wi-fi that works well. cheap, warm, clean showers. very quiet and friendly people and workers. definitely would recommend. tent camping sites are pretty close together, we pulled into a tent camping spot but stayed in our van. no problems (:
