Small wild campsite right off the paved road. First couple sites would be fine for big rigs. Nice forest. No toilets or anything else. A bit of noise from the road nearby but not too bad.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Old campsite next to the lake in the woods. Pretty clean and good signal. Not ideal unless you’ve got good clearance
Report Check-InBeautiful lake with lots of ducks. Got quite busy in the night plus there are a few full timers. Go via Lac Le Jeune Rd so that you can miss the really bad potholes and ruts on the way in
Report Check-InThe spots down in the trees on the lake edge are a bit hard to get to at the moment, muddy and deep ruts and puddles. One entrance looked doable, but we opted to camp just on the side of the road next to the forested spots. It's a rarely used dirt road with heaps of level room on the side, good for all rigs. Nice spot not far from Kamloops! Quiet night.
Report Check-InStayed here one night in a forested spot with a view of the lake. Lots of people here on the weekend, but still had spots available. Definitely some long-term campers here and we couldn’t find a posted sign with stay limit. Check Kamloops Fire District for burn ban information. 1-2 bars of service on ATT.
Report Check-InStayed 1 night here. Peaceful morning drinking coffee and watching birds and ducks. No bugs present in the morning.
Report Check-InVery buggy, very dusty, the lake is quite muddy. Came in from the south side and the road was super bumpy, lots of potholes. Pretty roomy camps once you get there though, we wouldn’t stay more than a night because of the bugs and dust.
Report Check-InGreat camping spot! Spent 2 peaceful nights here on the lake. Probably about 20 sites available, only 3 other campers were here at the time. No amenities so pack everything out. Burn your toilet paper and pick up your trash!
A few big rig friendly spots however be careful driving in. There are several roads to enter the campground and some were very narrow. Mosquitoes present.
Report Check-InAs described. At least one long term camper setup. First night was good. Unexpectedly the 2nd night (Sunday) had a new group of campers playing car stereo and howling until at least 2 am. Thankfully far enough away that it wasn’t miserable.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Stoped here eastbound out of Vancouver headed to Winnipeg. Quite a few sites with rock-ring fire pits and level sites. The “road” is passable by most vehicles but having a truck or some clearance helps to get to the back. There was about a dozen campers here the night we stayed but you’re spaced out and don’t even notice one another. Be bear smart and take out your trash. Excellent cell service.
Report Check-InGreat free camping location close to Kamloops on a quiet lake that backs onto a forest with trails. Dozens of seperate sites to pitch a tent or park to sleep. Stone fire pits at most sites. Fair amount of trash can be found and lots of trees have been cut down (Presumably by campers), although its nothing that detracts from the peaceful experience. Take the north entrance from Lac Le Jeune Rd for a direct entrance. The south entrance from Inks Lake Rd takes you through a couple KMs of bumpy dirt road with lots of pot holes. No amenities as this is wild camping.
Report Check-InPretty good free camping. No pitt toilets, and a lot of trash around unfortunately, so make sure you take all garbage with you, we see tons around here! There is construction at the entrance, doesn't appear they'll be done any time soon but they aren't too loud if you're further from them. Road is bumpy but we made it in our dually Dodge Sprinter.
Report Check-InNice spot, lot of space and accessible during winter season with a 2wd Promaster. Local shovelled the lake to create ice rink, they come skating and play hockey during the day!
Report Check-InNice place for a night , close to a lake.
Locals leave their trash around man made fire pits and come here to hang out at night but they didn’t make too much noise.
Large area. Perfect for RV parking and if they can't get down to the water part, they can park just behind the trees. A few self-made fire pits. Pretty lake view.
Drive here via Lac Lejeune rd and not the back way through Inks Lake rd (that is an off-road ATV trail).
