Description

Slightly hidden spot. Shadow Mountain currently requires wild camping only in marked spaces. I only noticed the site after driving by the entrance. It's by 2 other sites down the hill close to the road and most people probably didn't take a second look. Was the only spot not occupied in busy summer Teton season. Little cool water creek just down the side of the site, bear box on site Mosquitos are atrocious, counting 18 in a swarm by my screen right now. Barely see the top of the Tetons, road is rough, but free and in Park so not complaining a bit.

Nice big spot for several campers. You can get a little bit of a view of the morning Tetons here. We've stayed in several spots along this road the last couple of years. Most sites are accessible in our Class B+ just go slow

Beautiful spot. big enough to fit quite a few people but technically only 3-4 firepits. if you get here early enough you can snag an actual "site" and people are pretty respectful. there is only one pit toilet at the bottom of the mountain, by the entrance. road is rough, but worth it. I have AWD and high clearance (which I recommend) but I did see one sedan up here. no service. creek by site.

Wide open area with 3 other sites. No shade in 21a, so it’s great if you’re needing solar. TONS OF MOSQUITOS. We got eaten alive every night, even with a screen shelter. Partial view of the Tetons between the trees. Fire ring. Free. Vault toilet had no toilet paper.
