State Forest Parking area | Wild Camping

A pretty turn in off of a gravel road. No one else was here when we stayed (we got there around 8). Two cars passed us to go up the road but otherwise a very quiet and peaceful night. Just a warning: the gravel road is “well maintained” the the loosest of terms and definitely should be approached with caution by cars that have a hard time on hills or bad tires, especially at night. There are lots of deep potholes and rocks that jut out of the ground and the hill gets a little steep at some points which is a little nerve wracking with the gravel. It’s also pretty hard to turn around (we’re in a Chevy Astro passenger van, smaller cars might have an easier time but vans and up beware) and if you miss the turn the hill only gets steeper. But otherwise it’s a beautiful, quiet spot and the view further up the road is is gorgeous!

As described - a big turnout and great cell service! I hung out here a bit to do work but ended up not staying the night when I saw a sign that said camping was prohibited (picture added) (the sign was a bit ambiguous - staying camping at established campgrounds was prohibited. But - I didn’t want to risk it & there’s a trusty Cracker Barrel close by)

large parking area a half mile from main road. Access road is gravel and we'll maintained. Good place to stay for the night. will accommodate large RVs. Cell signal is strong!
