I was greeted by some nice folks running the polar express train ride when I pulled in. they were worried I would be boxed in and stuck when all the family's showed up for the train ride that evening, I asked about staying the night and they were 100% ok with it. Some road noise but nothing too bad, breakfast spot less than ten minute walk away if you're so inclined.
Report Check-InHuge well lit parking lot. We arrived around 5:30pm, just after dark. Looked out an hour later to a full parking lot of folks taking the Christmas train. Heard the train pull back into the station around 9:30pm. Everyone cleared out with no dreaded knock on our door. Quiet and restful sleep. Some road noise. 3-4 bars AT&T. Pit toilets. Garbage can. Great hiking trail. A very good spot.
Report Check-InPlace totally checks out - had to stop here while traveling out west. Perfect spot for the night. I had the whole parking lot to myself. Plus, it was great to see they had a public toilet.
Report Check-InWonderful place! About 5 other vans and a few cars overnighted with us at a respectable distance. Very clean. Heated pit toilet . Very nice for a night.
Report Check-InVery quiet, slept through the night. we parked in the grassy area towards the back of the parking lot. nice clean pit toilets. When we woke up there was a park ranger parked in the lot, he said good morning and that was all. Didn't seem to mind that we were there.
Report Check-InStopped for one night. Nice little area off the highway. You can park in the grass parking lot further down and tucked away. Lots of highway noise, in goes the earplugs.
Report Check-InStayed the other night and there was another sprinter already parked here which felt good. We got in around 9 or 10 pm when it was already dark. There were a few times before going to bed some sedans came to the lot and hung out for a bit but it didn’t feel too weird. People start coming around 8 am to catch the train. Good free spot to stay for a night! And nice trails nearby for biking.
Report Check-InScenic railroad station parking lot. It's a nice park with some trails nearby. It's fairly quiet with pit toilets. We found this place from the Lock 39 posting which is nearby.
