Latest Check-Ins

Great state park with tons of hiking, biking, paddling on the frio river. Stayed in the rio frio loop, could walk to the river from our site. They have dancing each nite at the pavilion. Awesome spot except…. The water is absolutely disgusting tasting, almost undrinkable in my opinion and they had one bathroom completely closed while trying to clean one of two open at 9am when everyone was trying to use it. Bad timing I would say. Overall would stay again, but would bring water from elsewhere. No cell service on Verizon.

Big park with lots of camping but I understand it's also busy and fills up. I'm in Pecan Grove and not much privacy from site to site. AT&T LTE, no Verizon here or in much of this area. If you are looking to hike and use the river, I would suggest staying in the southern camp areas like Pecan Grove or Oakmont. Be sure to check out the nighty dance

KOA style State Park camping. Gets very crowded. Showers and bathrooms are old and dated, some weren’t functioning.
