Great spot! Ocean noise, light traffic. Pretty flat. Parked just below yellow paint began on curb. Stayed 1 nt (9p-7a). Didn't try the bathrooms.

I really can’t stress how cool this spot is. Directly next to the ocean and walkable to a lot of great bars and restaurants. Sunset was impeccable and walking the beach was great. Highly highly recommend. Little to no road noise on a Thursday and Friday night.

Got here around 7p and was easily able to grab a street parking spot. Just be mindful of the yellow curbs, as others have mentioned. Gorgeous sunset, directly overlooking the beach. There were cars coming and going throughout the night, but nothing too disruptive. The bathrooms do get locked after sunset and they weren't unlocked until a couple hours after sunrise when I was there.

Right next to the ocean, but parked on the street. Sound of the waves was nice and drowned most car noise. Very windy but pretty. Some parts of the sidewalk are marked yellow which means no parking except for unloading.

Newport is a wonderful area to visit anytime of the year, rain or shine. This park is the Don & Ann Davis Park (photos of cars along yellow curb area))which is close to the Nye Beach park/beach where there are shops, bar, restaurants. This park closes at 10pm and have seen people park overnite in the park and along the yellow painted curb as its the best access to the beach and scenery. The local police dept do come by in the early mornings if too many vehicles are still parked in the yellow, but not consistant. There is a small area right before the yellow area for about 3 vans if you want to make sure to not be bothered. There is enough traffic coming and going that one loop around, you will find a open spot. Great views at sunrise/sunset. Never used restrooms. Great sitting benches tucked into walkway down to the beach.

great spot for a quiet overnight. a bit sloped, but not too bad. beautiful ocean smells and views.

Worked out well. Stayed one night on the street. Avoid the yellow marked curbs. Many other vans and RVs in the area. Quite a bit of pedestrian traffic in the evening and then again in the morning.

Nice beach view and path down to the sand. Lots of vans parking on the street overnight. Construction going on across the street, so noisy all day. Traffic died down about 10pm.

Stayed here one night lots of level space to park also the smaller lot over by the war memorial which has a nice view of the beach. We drove over there for breakfast. Walked to a local restaurant for dinner last night, Nana’s Irish Pub, very popular and good food. Many other restaurants near by . Only complaint would be that the public bathrooms closed a lot earlier than dusk and were not open by the time we left at 9 am. Many people coming to watch the sunset and walk dogs and see the beach in the morning we’re looking for bathrooms these bathrooms were clean and had paper !! Thank you to the town of Newport for letting us stay in your beautiful town

Parked in the lot during the day and then moved to the street at night. Fairly quiet and nobody bothered us. A few people milling around at night, but seemed harmless. Bathrooms were open when we woke up.

we stayed on the street near the park for one night. it's close to lots of places to eat, shop. plenty of families and tourists. bathrooms are open for at least the day.

this is one of the last places on the Oregon coast where you can boondock. let's keep it clean. best to move along after a night.

Same as the other lot listed as closed. Not closed. https://newportoregon.gov/dept/adm/ordinances/2170/ord_2170.pdf

I stayed here and at the two lots listed close by. The street parking was my least favorite of the three. While the view was nice, you're right on a decently-busy road, and I hate hearing the cars go by. I liked the small lot for the Vietnam park best- beach views, waking up to ocean sounds, minimal road noise. Bigger rigs won't fit there, I'd recommend bigger rigs go to the parking lot for the performing arts center- it's still close by and quieter for sleeping.
Overall I was very excited to find this area, it's way more welcoming than any other spot I've found coming down the 101.

Spent one night here. Beautiful view. A few other campers in the parking lot and a few on the street. Quiet

Sign says parking is allowed up to 16 hours. Nice ocean view.

Parked overnight on Elizabeth street. No ticket or door knock. There was a fair bit of foot traffic through the street but it stopped pretty early. Sound of the ocean during the night. Walked to breakfast in the morning. Lots of other folks parked in the area overnight, mostly older vans and busses and some cars. Have to wonder how long before this cute little tourist town shuts it down. But for now it works, especially on a holiday weekend when all the parks are full.
