Description

Normal price in May 2022 is $15/pppn. It is possible to negotiate. A lodge and established campground. Only 3 flat spots, because of the hilly area. In front of a salt lake. Very nice view and many animals around, we saw buffalos, hippos, flamingos and we heard hyenas at night. In rainy season, this place is full of elephants, according to Philip the owner (Ugandan man with many good stories). Very clean and new ablutions, hot shower and very nice toilets. We paid 20000 pp per night. The restaurant is bit overpriced (75000 dinner) so we didn't eat there. Very nice option to stay outside the park and see many animals.

stayed there for 1 night - 15 $ pp. 3 flat spots and a nice place to stay when it's raining. they even have electricity. ablutions were the best we had in a long time. view of the salt lake.

Note that it's 15 USD pp absolutely NON negotiable. I kindly asked a reduction 3 times to the very kind receptionist and it was a big NO everytime! (we even left and ended up being back later 😅)... The camp is very nice indeed with great ablutions BUT the generator is only 30 meters away and it was very noisy from 4pm to 8pm and from 8am to 11am the next day! Pay 30 USD for 2 people to feel like we're in a construction site wasn't pleasant at all. Internet with MTN works perfectly but Airtel doesn't.

As described :). Lovely spot! Clean and neat.

Very nice campsite as already mentioned. We enjoyed it a lot, hanging in the nice shaded hut overlooking the crater.
When the wind is in your direction the smell of the crater is a bit nasty... But lots of animals. We had hippos and a hyena at the campsite at night.

We paid $10pppn and $5 for the children.

Spent here 4 nights, negotiated the price to $10/pppn. Their normal rate is nowadays $15/pppn. Hot shower, new ablution. Only 3 spots for RTTs, but great views to the salt lake. Two raised, roofed platforms you can use, too. Pieceful. Unfenced, so at dark hippos may roam around and we heard lions one night very close by. They make you a fire every night. Very expensive food and drinks at the lodge, don’t do. Charged 30,000
UGX for a smoothie (!). Wifi doesn’t really work at all and Airtel reception is weak. But good place to chill out for a few days.
