Long road that if you keep going straight you end up at a gate which is locked. Lots of pull offs and side roads to explore. Saw some dirt bikes on my way in. There was a truck that came by the gate around 9/10pm but they didn’t bother me and drove right past. Sunset was stunning and I heard a coyote howl later. Some trash but not too much. Would come back if I was in the area again. Also Verizon service was 2/5 bars most of the night.
Report Check-InSo this place has gotten pretty trashed. Lots of debris from target shooting. We did hear coyotes howling in the night and in the morning. This is ok for an overnight as it's really close to Santa Fe but not a place to hang around
Report Check-InWe came in after dark and found a pull over flat spot. Had occasional vehicles go by. There were several after dark times of emptying of magazines but they weren't close to us, nor obnoxious. Mostly quiet by midnight. Slept in peace and moved on in the morning. The road at the start of this area is totally washboards. Have to drive very slow but at the gate it got better. Next to where we parked are a few large potholes with mud and water from a recent good rain. They are avoidable. Has good view of mountains, junipers a little of Santa Fe. I would come here again. I love we had a flat spot even though it's on rolling hillside area. T-mobile reception is 3+ bars.
