This is an official dispersed camping site with 3 spots. Strand Hill road up to Farris Creek road. This will require a capable 4WD vehicle with clearance to get up here. There are 2 more spots up Farris Creek road but they are even more difficult to get to.
No cell service. Lots of mosquitoes.
Note that as of April 2021, the Crested Butte region is forcing everyone to camp in designated dispersed camping sites in Washington Gulch and other areas closer to the town. Brush Creek and others will be enforced in coming years, but as of now you can still camp in this area wherever you can find a previously used spot as long as you follow the basic rules of dispersed camping. However, you may get the evil eye from locals who do not know the specifics of the rules so it's better to use these designated spots.
