Something not right?

Description

A wide, grassy field with a few trees for shade, at the Clay Island Trailhead. I spent a very peaceful night here with no issues. A bit out of the way, but worth it if you're looking for something quiet, and is not a paved parking lot, reflecting the summer heat. The road in becomes a dirt road, part of the way in, but was no trouble. The entrance to the parking area is off Carolyn Lane. Your gps might take you down the wrong road at a point near the end, but Carolyn Lane is just around the corner.

as described. quiet. lots of mosquitoes, even in the cool weather. got in late. stayed all morning. wasn't given any trouble. houses are REALLY CLOSE. no signs saying you can't park overnight anywhere. still better to keep a low profile and not be odious. hard to find free parking in the area and this is probably the nicest one. just the sounds of birds. there's a big trail right here. gators and snakes and birds oh my. taking a hike before we depart. worth a little detour. road is solid. lots of room for bigger rigs. some shade trees. a shallow well pitcher pump for non potable. no crapper but you can always make like a bear if you gotta.

Great spot.
The first description is spot on.
AT&T w/no boost = 2 bars. Internet & text working fine.

Nice spot, as described. Worth a little bit of a drive to be able to stay somewhere for free in Florida that’s not a Cracker Barrel parking lot. The trail to the lake is pretty, too.

We are in a mini camper, not stealth at all, but didn’t get bothered staying for one night.

Wide entrance - I’m driving 21’ GMC Sierra with a Travel Lite 626 Truck Camper. I was able to drive in at sunset.
Grassy field with nice trees.
Quite area , houses are about 100 yards away.

Be advised. Mosquitoes by the hundreds. Long sleeves, screen doors and mosquitoe candles.

Report Check-In

Stayed overnight from approximately 3pm to 3pm, was not bothered. Quite a few locals in and out to hike the trail. 1bar T-Mobile with booster, enough to work.

Report Check-In

Great quiet spot for the night. There are houses very close by, so it’s probably better to arrive after dark and stay stealthy. We arrived around 8pm and left at 11am without seeing anyone else or having any issues.
