Something not right?

Description

A small bridge on the main road crosses a creek, and driveways go down on both sides to camp at the bottom. We went to the east one because it was available, but the west one looked like an easier descent. Our 25’ RV backed down the hill ok and didn’t have to level. Delightful quiet place with the sound of the water, and our kids and dog loved playing in the creek.

One of 2 sites just past a bridge (the others just before the bridge, and is pretty steep). Short dirt road down to the site, which is right by Hyas Creek. Beautiful and private, but a lot of trash around :(

Decent sized site down a short dirt road right on Hyas creek. Very private and beautiful, but a lot of trash :(

stayed here last night nice spot but

WARNING: we saw another post about a group of bandits/junkies scoping boondockers in this area.(obviously AFTER we left or wouldn't have stayed)

a random group of 3 guys walked down into this site right by us and said that they were just trying to find river access. river access is all over so my husband was on to them. our dogs gave them a second thought and when they used our trail to get down to the river, my husband followed them. they never swam and disappeared around the corner. BEWARE! scary stuff.

Awesome night! Quiet and beautiful! Dogs loved the stream.

I spent a night in the space to the east of Hyas Creek. There is still a tree down across the space, but I thought it was a nice bench. I reversed a teardrop trailer down the path to the site. It was a little tight, but perfectly doable.

The ground near the log is muddy. It's dryer about 10 feet away from the log. If I was doing it again, I wouldn't have backed the trailer all the way down.

I also investigated the site to the west of the creek. It looks like there is some more foliage down in that site. It would have been harder to get a trailer in there, that's for sure.

we tried to go here (the east one aka the one *after* the bridge if you come from Forks), and though it was really beautiful, a tree has fallen down which blocks about half the site. be aware of this, and of the possibility that you will not be able to turn around with a large vehicle. we backed out right away instead of turning around to be safe, we are in an SUV. it seems like it fell not too long ago though so maybe someone will remove it soon. probably best to walk down first and check out if your vehicle will fit.

Beautiful, and as described! It is right where a small creek enters the river past a bridge, there is a pull off to the right just before the bridge, and this one that is just after the bridge. Both have plenty of room and a fire pit, and access to both the creek and the river.

There are quite a few pull offs after you pass the closed national Forest Campground.
