Something not right?

Description

About 10min drive north of Mammoth on gravel road. Clear flat open area for dispersed camping right off the gravel road, very quiet. Room with space for a large van, car and tent. Limited reception. No amenities, just a clearing for car or tent camping with lots of trees around. There were tire tracks and signs of a small old campfire, though no established fire ring.

Latest Check-Ins

as described. we found available spots here during a festival weekend at mammoth lakes.

Report Check-In

2 good spots at the beginning of the the road that this pin is on and further back I lost service with Verizon. Turned around, turned left back onto Sawmill Cutoff and continued half a mile. You’ll see a sign for Mammoth Loop (37.6797152, -118.9524444) and there’s a handful of road turn offs in a clump. Lots of tree to find a spot in shade. The main road is in pretty good shape, I’m not sure of the many roads you can turn off onto, I didn’t venture too far on them as I drive a low clearance/2WD vehicle. Windy, low/mid 80’s, it’s beautiful! And good Verizon.

Report Check-In

Several areas to park in this area. Try to get off the main road to avoid dust. Nothing special here but it is just outside of Mammoth in the dispersed camping area. Weak Verizon and AT&T signal but seems usable for work, low data speed. Yours to enjoy protect and keep clean 🌲

Report Check-In

Nice flat pull out off the gravel forest service road. Easy to find and quiet and close to Mammoth Lakes and nearby hiking.

Report Check-In

Very large flat clearing/pull off with enough space to fit van, several cars and tents. In the trees by the road. There are a few other pullouts along this road.

Report Check-In

Much flatter road access than a couple of the other dispersed camping options further up the road on the right
