Coming from Villavieja there are signs that show, where to turn, you can't miss them!
Still working from 6am-6pm.
Cost us 20'000 COP with a VW Kombi.

Funny hidden back farm dirt tracks to get to this ferry, but what a lovely way to cross the river. We were the only car, the ferry was on the opposite side but came over quickly when they noticed us. Paid 20000 for 2 people and our Land Rover.

Not sure if you should take the ferry?

For a relaxed visit with your own vehicle:
- Take the rural road from Neiva to Villavieja (all paved, except few gravel patches and potholes; the usual).
- In Villavieja take the "Tatacoa" road; it is paved until the red desert.
- Follow the road from red desert to grey desert (Los Hoyos); it is gravel, but very smooth and well maintained

We paid 25K for our truck camper. Roads are pretty bumpy, but we didn’t need 4x4. Going toward Tatacoa, go through La Manga, then follow the signs for the ferry. Friendly people, psyched for a cold beer if you have one!

C'est le bon point pour prendre le ferry. des deux cotés de la rive. un gamin demande le pourboire à l'arrivée pour ouvrir le portail. Nous avons payé 30000 la traversée. les prix sont sur la photo. le chemin est étroit et compliqué pour venir et sortir de l'autre côté mais ça passe sans 4x4 si c'est bien sec.

ferry is ok. cost us 40k (9m truck). road is very bumpy both side and narrow but passable.

Mercedes Sprinter: 30‘000 COP.
They told us the ferry can carry up to 40 tons. But at the side of Aipe there’s a bridge for max. 8 tons.

Nice ferry. Better than driving south to go north. I believe it skips a peaje as well. Cost me 25k COP for a VW Kombi. Hours 6am - 6pm every day.

Pretty tough to find this place. Best to go to the main plaza and ask a local on a moto to guide you there for a small tip. Some low branches coming in and tight spots. Wouldn’t advise a BIG rig unless you like trimming trees..and there’s a very narrow bridge also..
