No longer a public spot. Privately owned and under construction. Looks like they're creating a tourist lighthouse. Maybe open to the public next year? Most of the area is now barricaded off with designated parking.

East to find. But it rained ALL night. The locals departing from their fishing decided to tear up the exit I bit (just kids, no trouble). But that made our exit a bit tricky. Plenty of mud!
Also, has been recently fenced of to reduce available area and I assume erosion. Still a great little spot.

Report Check-In

Stopped for one night. No problems other than a bit windy.

Beautiful place. Some locals drove by to see the sunset but left when it got dark. NO MOSQUITOS ! And an amazing view on the Confederation bridge. We recommend !

So this is actually public land.
The lighthouse civic address is 198 lighthouse road. A little research on civic address PEI website will show you the property limits. As long as you stay within the property lines of the lighthouse, this is federal government land.

We didn’t stay overnight as it was a rather wild wet and windy Saturday. But there were seven other vans camped. So obviously NOT private land, George the “owner“ foiled 😉

Great spot. Level ground to the right. Can go back quite a ways. Very quiet. one other RV and one tent camper.

Report Check-In

Camped here the last two nights. This is PUBLIC LAND and not private property. Don’t let nearby home owners tell you otherwise.

Several other vans camped here last night. No issues.

There is a sign that says private property drive at your own risk. Some local put that up. It’s not private.

One of the most beautiful campsites we’ve stayed at.

Beautiful place with spectacular views! There was a wedding being set up.

Perfect spot and amazing sunset. I recommend it if you are close by.

Great place, very quiet, beautiful views. Note the Sea cow head road and the lighthouse road are dirt so may not be in great shape after a lot of rain. Wonderful place though.

Beautiful, on the cliff side (no access to ocean water however). 2 bar LTE. RV/camper van/tent friendly, adequate space. However quite windy at times.

Report Check-In

Was very beautiful, it was almost too windy for my tent but was a lovely stay regardless

Report Check-In

please explore this place, it is beautiful- quote by a 5 year old.

One word, WOW! A few cars at sunset then all alone for the night.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot, the place is perfect to pitch his tent and enjoy the landscape. The sunset is wonderful!

Report Check-In

Amazing place to stay. There were a few groups in the evening who came to watch the sunset (which is so amazing to see here). We were alone after dark and had a quiet night. Such a wonderful place to wake up to.

Report Check-In

As everyone has said, fantastic spot for spending the night. You can’t beat the view and the sunset. Yes, it’s windy but worth it.
Room for several RVs

Our second night here. A lot of spots identified in PEI had no overnight camping sign. Beautiful spot but so disappointed to see so much toilet paper strewn around. Can’t people buy some dog poop bags and take their trash out with them? We can see why the locals don’t want people overnighting. We all have to do our part to keep these beautiful spots pristine. A real highlight location on the island!

Another beautiful quiet spot. This time of the year, it is very quiet with no one around. The land just right out to a point and you get a beautiful view of the ocean, Confederation Bridge and the Lighthouse. Was quite windy and after some rain last night there is some mud and big puddles to avoid. A little uneven ground but who is complaining? Can’t put a price on this kind of experience!!!

Report Check-In

Another great place to spend the night! There’s lots of space here, though the dirt road out is narrow and pretty rough. There is space here, but I would think big rigs would have trouble here. Our RoadTrek did fine. There is a home right next to the lighthouse, but they must be used to people overnighting here.

Great view, quiet spot, but you must be completely self-contained and take your trash with you.

My favorite place that I stayed in PEI. Quiet, beautiful sunset/sunrise, loads of space. This was the first lighthouse I visited on the island so it made me think all the other lighthouses would be like this too but no! Please leave no trace to keep this spot accessible in the future, my dog found a human shit in the bushes...

English first et français après

this has to be the best view I had so far with places on this app. Epic winds tho in the fall season but the view man, worth the gas to get here!!

Français

c'est probablement une de plus belles vues à date que j'ai trouvé sur cette application. Les vents sont intenses par contre surtout en saison d'automne mais ça vaut le gaz que ça m'a coûté pour me rendre jusqu'ici!!

Report Check-In

very nice sunset, lot is big enough for my 27 ft to turn around.

Report Check-In

A dirt road just in front of the lighthouse, where there’s room to park alongside the road. Beautiful. :)
