At GPS marker you will see an unpaved forest road going back from the paved road and an unpaved road with runs parallel.
The perpendicular road goes around the corner and protected from road noise; It has 2 dispersed sites suitable for a Van or 4x4 but not RVs bigger than about 25'.
The parallel road is not to be used for overnight and is sign posted as day use only.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Spent last night there. Incredible. Great paddle boarding. You definitely hear the road noise but truly beautiful
Report Check-InDay use only. Someone keeps taking the sign down do not stay here over night.
Report Check-Ingreat spot! close to the road but hidden as well, another van (see below!) was there. super clean, but i picked up a few cans on the beach. saw a few people nearby on the beach in the am..but very calm and quiet.
Report Check-InParadise. Like he said, the Holy grail. I'm at the end spot till th 4th, plenty of room for a couple more vans or whatnot. As Steve Wallis would say, 5 golden rockets!
Report Check-InAmazing spot, road noise, has service. Minimal bugs (late May). Wish it was better weather when I was here. Please don’t ruin this spot, leave no trace. This spot is great
Report Check-InBeautiful sleeping spot which feels like an unofficial Campground with a private access to the beach. The road access is a bit wild but we made it with our minivan. Could fit around 2 vehicles, we were the only ones there, probably because it was out of season and during the week. Some road noice but quiets down during the night.
Report Check-InBeautiful place, and private. A little tight but no problem for a Chevy Express van. The highway quiets down after dark.
Report Check-InSpot can actually fit FOUR vehicles, if the two others are vans, but a full house would be a bit snug.
Between the two cut-out parking spaces, there are two spots *just* big enough for a van to squeeze into if you don't mind pulling right up to the branches (and possibly scratching your paint).
I was able to get my minivan in there (see picture) and leave enough room for the SUV in the far space to get out. There's another spot just ahead of it, tucked against the bushes (in the photos it's the patch of grass with a white bag on the ground)
Space was otherwise great. Loved having the lake right there. Got busy for about an hour after dark as people came out to look for special rocks with blacklights, but they took off after a while.
Report Check-InAs described. Two bars. Very tight space but perfect for our van.
Report Check-InThe holy grail.
You can fit more than two. Just scout it first cause the turnaround is tight and the path in (a 90 degree right off the road, into the tree line) is a bit rough.
Report Check-InNice tucked away camping spot. Big enough for two vehicles, but hard to turn around with more than one. Busy beach, but quiet at night other than minor road noise. One bar of service, but great service if you walk closer to the lighthouse or the nearby private campground.
Report Check-InVery easy to find, and get to. Any vehicle should be able to make it to these spots. Only 2 spots available but you are right on Lake Superior. A lot of other people walking up and down the beach and you are fairly close to the road but nothing annoying or loud.
Report Check-Innice private parking. another rig was here, but we left before they were awake. beach front property was nice to wake up to
Report Check-InThis spot would be perfect if not so busy and trashed. When we pulled in there was an immense amount of toilet paper (toilet paper does not biodegrade, please pack it out) and an old mattress, along with other trash. We plan on cleaning the site and leaving it immaculate for the next camper. However, if you do stay here, plan for very busy days. This is right next to a day use area and rock hunters come through day/night, kids play in the water, dogs are off leash, etc. Also, it is very close to the road and the road noise is not blocked.
Other than that you can pull in, there are two spaces, but unless you want to be squished together this spot is probably best for one small RV or maybe two vans. It is not level, so bring blocks. The road in is a little rough but not too bad.
You can swim and paddle board off of your camp, have bonfires at night, and generally enjoy the atmosphere. You’re close to town go do Pictured Rocks tours and hikes, etc.
All in all it is a beautiful spot, it just needs to be cleaned (hopefully we can lug the mattress somebody left here out). Also if you find the directions confusing, don’t. It’s very easy, the spot is just on the side of the road on the 28. Scout before you drive down in case the road is washed out.
