Something not right?

Description

Most of the area around it has clear indication of 'no parking' after midnight. however this portion of the park, in front of tennis courts, doesn't. I have slept in my van there, as did others, and never been bothered. there are "no camping" signs but they refer to the park itself, not the parking along it.
Toilets are 1 minute away at the beach, they're open from 8am to 8pm. Excellent Shawgo free wifi (full bars).
Look for corner of Dynes ave/ Power st. also next corner at Alberni st. see photo attached.

amazing spot, super close to the beach a big old park to hang out in. We're pretty stealth in our SUV but there was RVs there as well without being disturbed. 10/10

Report Check-In

Signs all around this sector. 😒 See photo.

Report Check-In

Slept here one night no issue. Yes, close to downtown, but the No Camping bylaw actually applies to campers and trailers as well. Other campers around, so probably hasn't been an issue. I would say not a quiet spot. Traffic noises throughout the night. Easy to find, easy access, but noise-wise and quality of sleep, the worst one out of all the other locations in the area.

Report Check-In

As describe, we had a good night, very near of the beach and downtown

I dont think it is legal, even if it seems to work. Penticton Bylaw 3133, 4th article : "No person shall set up or occupy any camper, trailer, or other form of temporary shelter on or within any park or upon any street or public property within the corporate limits of the City of Penticton, unless expressly authorized by the City Council or Committee thereof."
