Used to be a WWII prisoner of war camp. Excellent location for visiting Tahquamenon Falls. Road access is good for any size rig. Requires a free permit for Michigan State Forest Dispersed Camping. 2 bars Verizon LTE.

Easy to get to and quiet. I had the place to myself on a Monday. Stayed 1 night.
Report Check-InLocated 7.5 miles from Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Road in is ok, hard pack gravel, but the further in you go, some soft sand, wouldn't try it after rain. 2x4 should be fine. 4x4 no problem. Several good level spots and spread out, some spots under trees just off the main road. MI State Passport required (not free, cost $39), state owned land. Mosquitoes are wicked fierce! Verizon 3 bars. TMobile 3 bars.
Report Check-InNice open field with some trees. Probably at least 4or 5 good spots in my opinion. Some signal on AT&T. One camper looks like they have been here a minute or two but overall a nice place.
Report Check-InAs described. Parked camper van near first fire ring on the right w/ cement foundation area of old buildings. Mosquitoes were fierce!
Report Check-Ingreat free spot right near tahquamenon falls. dirt road that circles around with a good amount of space - we were perfectly fine with 2wd. quiet and peaceful with few bugs and a great fire ring. no facilities. we only saw one other camper and no one came to check if we had a camping permit.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Stayed one night, would’ve stayed two but I’m on a schedule. Parked within the circle by some trees for cover. There was a pre-made fire ring. Very clean, quiet and no issues. Felt safe

Very nice spot for many rigs.
Easy to drive in and very quiet.
As described, plenty of room. slow cell service. The nearby road is active, but not too noisy. Clean, please keep it this way!
Report Check-InWe stayed 2 nights with no trouble. There was a tent set up in another area and an RV tucked between some trees. Road was sandy and we were initially worried but had no problems navigating in our 25ft skoolie. Mosquitos bad this time of year. Close to a logging road.
Report Check-InGreat place to boondock. Had a game warden stop by. He was friendly and gave me the proper paper work to camp in the forest.
Report Check-InGreat place for Boondocking. I stopped here for the night. Game warden stopped by, friendly and gave me the proper paper work to fill out so that I can stay at these type of places in Michigan.
