Moderately difficult road to drive up, lots of ruts and rocks so need high clearance. Used 4 low to go up nice and carefully in our 4x4 Chevy van, can probably get up in a 2wd if you are feeling courageous enough but not recommended. 2 bars of T-Mobile 5G, no Verizon
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The road is closed as of now. Don’t know when it will open again. So tired!
Report Check-InVery nice spot, with a great overview. Pretty slanted. But a pull out spot behind a few trees if you can fit, decently level. Saw a burn ban sign coming in as well as a mountain lion sign as well.
Report Check-InLoved this campground! The drive is not ideal like others have said but I made it in my Nissan rogue slowly. The campsites are a great size about 20 pull in sites and more just tent walk in once you make it to the bottom. I honestly wish we could have stayed longer the size, privacy and view were amazing.
Drive was a bit hairy like others have said, but doable. My 1984 VW vanagon made it. Unfortunately as of April 15, 2023 the Forsythe trail head is currently closed due to an active fire according to signs. This is obviously temporary but if you are heading up soon keep this in mind.
