Mauritania
Good place to camp for 500 mru
Walled property of 20 000 m2, Safe and clean.
Victor is a great host. You can pay in Euros. No WiFi, but excellent Mauritel phone signal.
Good dinner (and breakfast) and nice atmosphere when sitting with all other travelers around the dinner table.
Laundry service.
No electricity hook-ups, because the whole place runs on solar power.
No filling up of water, because water needs to be delivered by truck to the place and is very scarce. Please respect that and take only short (hot!) showers.
No shop around, so come prepared with all you need. Count for a longer stay because this place has the magic power of making people stay longer than they planned.
Rooms available as well, check the second entry on iOverlander.
Extremely beautiful setting, friendly people and THE place to stay in Nouadhibou.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Came back third time now after 1,5 years and it’s even better now than it used to be. Phone signal now is very strong (there is an antenna now in the middle of the last roundabout), so if you have mobile data, you could even work in paradise. 😂
Dinner got really expensive now, but it’s very good and if you know Mauritania, then you know it’s worth it.
It’s 4 friendly dogs now that get along very well with guest‘s dogs.
Please don’t use the washing machine as water is a real issue and very scarce. We gave our laundry to the cleaning lady who takes laundry home and delivers next day. Depending on how much laundry you have, give her 200-300 MRU.
Absolutely amazing, the best place to stay in Nouahdibou.
Report Check-InVery nice stopover for any traveler looking to rest near Nouhadibou, along the coast, you can find the villa run by Victor, rooms or campsite Victor will put you at ease and Tich's cuisine will make you you will enjoy with other travelers and will replenish your strength, in short, a must-see in Nouhadibou!
Report Check-InThis place is well placed. The perfect shower, but for travelers in a vehicle, there is no place to empty the toilets. No tap to take water and the price has increased: 500MRU for 2 with 4x4.
Report Check-Ingenau wie beschrieben. Ein perfekter Platz zum runterkommen. Victor und Trisch sind super nett und hilfsbereit. Essen ist Klasse! Wasser ist wie überall knapp - seit sparsam!
Report Check-InHighly recommended! Don't think of going anywhere else in Nouadhibou because this is the place to relax and enjoy great company. Trish and Victor make the stay so comfortable and friendly and their beachfront place feels like you're not in Mauritania. 2 people with a tent 500oug for the night. Great food. Victor is making improvements on the place and will introduce wifi soon.
Report Check-InFantastic place! If you want to have the feeling to be in a “part of the family “, that’s the place to be.
Tish (Scottish) and Victor (Dutch) are super nice people with rich adventurers’ life and share their amazing experience with you.
The food is excellent. No menu but you share the meal with the owners.
I was travelling alone with my dog (Belgian shepherd Malinois) who didn’t get well with the two lovely dogs of the place, but the place is so big that it wasn’t a big problem.
Hot shower and clean toilets.
The vue is fantastic.
Nice place to meet other travellers.
Don’t hesitate!
Fantastic place and amazing people. Victor and Tish in true travellers spirit make you feel like home. Food is amazing, camping grounds are clean and have some shade. Clean toilet and shower ( hot shower) large terrace with dinner tables, spacious hall for afternoon nap or social gathering of visitors. Worth visiting and staying few days.
Report Check-InVictors place is AMAZING! Would stay longer if we could!
It fills up (mostly if you just want a room but also for food) so just give Victor a heads up that you are coming if you can. His WhatsApp/phone number is +222 41565490
Report Check-InWe stopped for two nights. Great spot to rest. Tish and Victor welcomed us like family
Report Check-Ina charming place, with the Atlantic Ocean in sight, the owner is ver friendly and you can share your experiences with other travellers . Hot shower , meals , no WiFi , but it is a place for the disconnections .
Report Check-InA little tricky to find, you need to look for the building with a flag surrounded by a wall. Aim for the gate, head though, and around left to the arched entrance, they'll show you where you can park. Lovely east facing place with great hosts Victor and Tish. Spent the evening and following morning chatting over tea and coffee. Very clean facilities also. Would definitely recommend
Report Check-InNice relaxed place and people. Great meeting point for travellers. Friendly big dogs. Good location near the border. Possible to have breakfast/dinner with owner and other guests. 1 toilet and 1 shower available and (cold) washing machine. Please be sparingly with water since there is no water network here!
Report Check-InFantastic place, with rooms and camp facilities.
Beautiful setting at the waters edge..
Clean toilets and hot showers.
Food here is excellent..
Victor ( the host) is very helpful and friendly.. I would really recommend this place, and will definitely be back..
good location near the sea.
possibility to have dinner for 5€ with other traveller.
we staied 2 night, very quiet place.
The fish restaurant is not here at Vila Maguela and the „nomad tents“ are only put up for events (those „Rallies“), but it’s a beautiful and very peaceful place for camping with romantic sunrises and sunsets.
Hot solar powered shower, solar electricity, water from a bug tank. Very helpful owner.
The fish restaurant is 209m away in the RMK hotel and it’s good.
No WiFi and poor cellphone signal.
addendum: the sign at the door is hardly visuable, when the gate is open!
...see photo.
Great place! We stayed 3 nights. Very helpful owner. Sea is even now warm enough to go swimming. There is still a fish restaurant nearby.
Report Check-Inowned by Victor from Netherlands. Idylic villa sat on the edge of pristine sea. Great birdlife and a nice place to sit and watch the local fishermen go back & forth. Basic rooms and camping on sand on the waters edge or a larger compound for big groups. Great overland stop. Gate can be a little tricky to find as the camp is set within a larger walled compound, look for the ksar type building. Bakers, shops, sim cards, ATMs available at nearby Nouadibou.
Report Check-InVery Nice place. Top spot near the sea. New owner…no restaurant anymore. Don’t hesitate to stop here but no shops.
Report Check-InGood place to stay for 200 mru
Great fish restaurant, only fresh caught fish served.
Oysters and other shellfish straight from the sea.
Walled property of 20 000 m2
Rallyes frequently stop here.
4 nomad tents available, at 200 m seaside. Safe and clean.
