Description
Nice rest area, good alternative to Walmart parking. Fair amount of noise from hwy, but gets quiet at night.
Update: As of June, 2021, the lake is almost completely dry. Rest area is fine, just don't expect a lake.

Rules say you can park for up to 8 hours in any 24 hour period. Stayed overnight, no problem, just lots of noise from the highway and trucks pulling in and out. Nice lake view.

Report Check-InSeveral nice, flat parking areas in Honey Lake Wetlands Area. Very quiet. Beautiful views of the hills. Lot #2 has a porto potty and trash can. Not another soul in site. Signs said we needed to resister but we couldn’t figure out how.

Report Check-InSo I didn't stay here, I just stopped for a break, thinking my dog might be able to cool off in the lake. There is no lake, it is almost completely dry. It would be a fine place to park overnight, I just thought I'd update to let people know there is not a lake there.
Report Check-InIt’s a rest stop. There’s an 8 hour limit. Not anywhere to park away from incoming and outgoing traffic, and it is right on the highway, so there is a fair amount of noise. Sunrise was beautiful, and I did get a good nights sleep, though.
