This site is about 4 miles off 89a. Go through the gate at mile marker 545. There are other spots closer to the road if you don’t want to go the 4 Miles. Wide open, quiet, you can see for miles. beautiful cliffs and the canyon river below. Cell service moderate. Verizon AT&T T-Mobile all about 2 to 3 bars fluctuate. Road is a little bumpy in spots and there are two moderate hills that may require 4 Wheel Drive.

Beautiful spot right on rim of Marble Canyon. Gate off 89A was closed when we got there, no signs encouraging or discouraging entrance. Many spots available along the rock/dirt road with fire pits. Definitely need high clearance and off road capabilities to make it to rims edge. But there’s some options closer to 89A if needed. Spent the day on ridge and saw 2 vehicles come and go. Great day mountain biking on dirt road and doing some yoga! Beautiful sun rise and sunset. Would highly recommend!

I got there about an hour after dark. So, picking a site was iffy. In the morning I was amazed by the view. Right on the edge! Then turn around and there was the full moon setting over the vermilion cliffs just as the first rays of the sun were lighting them up.

It was more then a bit windy. It was A LOT windy! With a roof top tent, it was like sleeping in a cloths dryer. But, at midnight it calmed down... a bit.

I'll be back!

Awesome spot. Really rocky road. Like someone said, there are 2 pretty steep climbs to get all the way back. Made it up and down them in a Chevy Express Extended 2WD. Just aired the tires down a lot and it was fine. Really quiet. Really windy.
Added a screen shot exactly where the gate is.

Watch out! Google Maps will send you to the wrong gate, you can find the gate at 858CQ73J+7F and then just follow the road. Amazing spot, the views are breathtaking. We had very good AT&T coverage. We were alone and it was super quiet. Love this place

Incredible place. Multiple nice places alongside a gravel road.
Only possible with 4wd and high clearance - we barely managed it with our Chevrolet Equinox

Forgot to say… there is a short very rocky part but it goes back to a gravel road! Just gotta get through the rocks and you’ll be good

My crosstrek made it no problem even with quite a bit of weight added to the car. Of course tires are a huge factor! I have good all season but they held up fine! Just take it slow. A lot of spots were taken (it was a Saturday so makes sense). We got lucky finding the very last spot. It worked for us because the other spots looked magical but I have my dog with me and don’t really want to be right at the edge of a cliff. A very short walk could get us to see the river no problem. We loved this place and would happily come back for more than one night.

Spent a night here in my RTT on my (2WD) Tacoma, which handled the road out to the site just fine. It was VERY windy, which led me to pack up and move on the next day, but the views here were absolutely stunning, in all directions. I would definitely visit again.

AMAZING SPOT. We just went in 2.4 miles. We loved this spot more than the one at the end. Probably our favorite spot of all time. Verizon service good. Rough road like talked about. Beautiful 360 view. Would definitely come back.

Use Google maps to find the entrance gate which is not marked and is your first test: it looks like it’s locked but it’s not! When you pass through (and close it behind you naturally) you drive some seriously bumpy rocky trail. Our heavy Promaster 21 footer (6.5 meters) plugged on through, bouncing a bit. Pass the Sign warning not to drive off the trail and the road smooths out. Your second test to prove you really want this is dealing with the rocky section which turns to hard packed dirt. Then drive the smooth track to the edge of the canyon and at our slow pace we took twenty minutes and were rewarded with just one neighbor at the first spot. Every so often a parking spot opens with a ring of stones showing the area you can park within alongside the rim. We found a spot a mile away from the other rig and it was like we were alone.
There is nothing here: trees, trash, cans, picnic tables, shade, safety railings - nothing! Just you and the incredible views with occasional gusts of wind. The plateau is at 4,000 feet/1200 meters so it will be hot in summer but nights cool off.
If you need internet access Verizon works well on two bars.

Solid spot close to the road, 3 bars Verizon, had the spot to myself

Amazing spot with great views. Right on the edge. Two fire fits.

High clearance needed for sites on left fork, sites on right fork much easier access. Spectacular views, no shade, potentially windy.
