couldnt find the turn in for the campground when I got here at night so I parked near the picnic table is alongside the trail. Some people came by for an hour or so but didnt bother me, I had all my window covers up so I was completely stealth. I found the turn in for the campground in the morning, felt safe and comfortable for the night, had service with verizon

Established camping and recreational area. There are a few spots large enough for 2 rigs each near the river access, and it seems that you can drive on the beach from the boat ramp. Then there is a large mowed field for parking as well as space for tents tucked away. There isn’t tons of privacy but room to spread out. There’s a camp host, pit toilets, and trash cans. The no-see-ums and flies were kinda bad in the grassy area so we just kept our van shut up. Had a great night’s sleep and didn’t notice the train go by after 10pm.

Lots of room here. It’s a fairly established BLM site with space for tents, large rigs, etc. There are smaller sites closer to the water and a large mowed grass area with space for many rigs. Not tons of privacy but room to spread out. There’s a camp host, bathrooms, trash cans, picnic tables. It was super clean when we were there fortunately. Had a good night’s sleep. The train didn’t pass by during the night that we noticed.

Nice place. Close to road and there were a few other tents, so not the most secluded, but good to spend one night on a long road trip

Everything everyone said was correct. Lots of skeeters, close to a railroad and the train runs more than 9 am and 9 pm. there was a 9:30ish and another one around 10-10:30 and then 5:40 in the morning. My partner and I were just setting up a tent to sleep and hit the road early, so this was a perfect spot. There are fire rings, but they are limited but plenty of parking areas. Decent road leading in as well. We were in a sedan, so no one should have much of any problems. Gravel once you arrive. AT&T was 4G lte but was able to mobile Hotspot still. Clean pit toilets. There are tons of picnic tables. Overall 10/10 besides one gentleman that wouldn't stop staring, so we moved away from them. The coordinates didn't work in my GPS but searched Matthew's Recreational and you should be good.

Perfect spot to stay overnight. Quiet, picknicktables, nice view.

As others have said, this place is great.

Wide open fields, great walking path along the creek to the river. Very peaceful and quiet. Occasional train didn't bother us at all.

Big open grassy field. If it were a commercial campground they'd turn this plot into at least 50 sites, though when I was there, there were only 4.

Additionally, there were several tent sites with picnic tables that were about 100+ meters away from the field.

There's a huge train with a giant horn that came through at about 9PM and 9AM. Other than that, no noise....

Fantastic free campsite! Tons of open spots and the brook/river is nice and loud! Lots of bugs and a train goes by every so often, but you can't beat free! Good pit toilets, plenty of 5G T-Mobile signal!

Nice, well maintained free BLM campground. Clean pit toilets, nice path by the river, picnic tables. Plenty of space to park on grass or gravel lots. Campground host is very friendly. Train is a bit loud but totally worth it for a comfortable night.

We were to find more of an established campground than we were expecting. Big field with an RV parked in it. Several parking areas. Picnic benches, including several under a pavilion. Fire rings. Campground host. Nice, well maintained area.

Great spot on the Yellowstone river with a beautiful view. Good cell coverage, pit toilets. Close to Miles City. I stayed for 3 nights and it was very peaceful. There are nearby train tracks but the noise wasn’t too intrusive.

Lovely spot, right beside the Yellowstone River. I think I left my mini tripod there - I hope someone found it and is putting it to good use! :)
