Description

Fantastic campsite near Nederland. There are many camp spots along this road with terrific views. These coordinates lead you to our favorite. There is some tree cover, and you are perched up on a fantastic overlook. You can see Boulder at night through the valley, and some Rocky Mountains to the west. We stayed two weeks here, and moved campsites in the middle to this site. We heard gun shots one day, and there were some loud campers a few other nights. We pulled a small scamp trailer down the relatively rough road with a small car without issues, but you have to be very careful. Good AT&T signal, even better with a signal booster.

I'm not sure why this is marked as closed, as it is quite open. Awesome spots some with views of the mountains and some shaded with tree cover. There is also non-potable water to put fires out with. There seems to be two male and one female moose the hang around the campsites.

great spot, not too far from town!
pretty level areas to be found all around.

Report Check-In

Rough road. 4x4 not required for main road. Just go slow. Approximately 10 pull offs. 3-4 large, remaining small. Quiet. All sites were full each night with overnights and some staying longer.

Report Check-In

Many secluded camp sites on this road with rock fire rings. Nice tree coverage. No problem in 2wd and AT tires. We even found some fresh sawn logs stacked next to fire site! Touch and go Verizon coverage.

Report Check-In

Free dispersed camping on national forest land. Amazing spots with fire rings and tree cover. Good privacy and seclusion but still pretty good ATT service. I’ll be staying at this spot for 3 nights, I hope to see a moose or elk. The dirt road is a little bumpy so take it easy without an upgraded suspension. My rwd van made it fine with AT tires and taking it slow.
