This may have been the most beautiful boondocking spot we’ve ever had. Go for a walk down the road into the canyon, you will not regret it.

Right on the canyon rim with snow capped mountains in the distance. Spots are a little tight together but hopefully everyone is respectful. There's some Verizon LTE but doesn't look great.
Report Check-InVery nice spot. There were several vehicles already camped in that area when we arrived, but we managed to get a spot. There are two routes there. Google Maps (and probably others) will route you there via Hwy 313, then a couple miles of washboard dirt road (about the worst washboard I've been on). The washboard was so bad that we had do air down our tires just to keep our sanity. The other route is from the bottom of Long Canyon Road near Jug Arch, which may require 4WD and high clearance depending on the conditions (that road has a tendency to wash out in places, making travel up the road more difficult at times especially in the winter or after recent rainfall).
Report Check-InOnly compelling reason to leave to replenish water. Absolutely stunning location. Some tours and explorers using the road, but not much and everyone has been private and kind.
