We had a really pleasant stay at the campsite. Had some relaxing days. We walked around the area, took a swim, had nice meals in the restaurant. Although a lot of locals were passing by, it didn’t bother us. The toilets and showers were clean. No hot water, but it waa warm enough. You can buy eggs, cheese and fresh bread. $10 pppn
Report Check-InGreat stopover before the border - a eco-camp so does not have electricity, but hot water can be turned on and Wi-Fi is available at the main camp (but we did not try it) - it is set beautifully off the bay of the lake w stunning views and the ability to go for a swim off a lovely private beach.
It is a functioning perma-culture farm so the food is all very fresh and delicious (as mentioned below) the full restaurant will be up and running again in April 2023 but we had a nice dinner prepared and served under the mango trees and fresh coffee in the morning.
One additional mention was that we had a car issue when we stayed - and the team and owner were all incredibly helpful in helping us get everything sorted out, from navigating local police report filings (as it was an accident) to getting us sorted w a local mechanic, we were really appreciative of them !
Great place with an incredible view. The accommodations are comfortable and the owners are very friendly and helpful. they can arrange to make meals despite the fire in the restaurant. they are rebuilding the restaurant and told me they will be ready in April 2023.
Report Check-InAccess road is now strictly 4x4.
The restaurant is burnt down.
The lapa was used by local fishermen.
Camping is still available, but the nice shady sides cannot reached by car.
The other campsites are adjacent to each other with no shade.
Everything looked a bit neglected.
We moved on.
Great place! The beach and the lapa are very beautiful. They also sell meat, goat cheese, eggs and bread. Had a really nice time.
Report Check-Init's very good place. it's paradise.
we were supposed to stay 2 nights. we stayed 10.
the restaurant has a snack or a single menu at 18€ entree main course dessert. this is delicious !
Beautiful place. The road up the hill is steep and rock. I had to walk my bicycle but do not be discouraged, it is worth. A beautiful spot with great food. They made me the most delicious sandwich for my ride the next day, 5000kwatcha. Not terribly cheap but not insane prices I expect with for these kinds of western comforts.
Report Check-InIndeed, a really beautiful and tranquil place. We were the only ones there. Great and fresh food (real Belgian fries)! We would definitely recommend eating there during your stay. The hike through the gardens to the end often peninsula is nice too. Very friendly and helpful staff. For overlanders, they provided laundry per machine instead of per piece. Great when you have been saving up your laundry. ;)
Report Check-InBeautifully located restaurant, hotel and campsite on the peninsula. They only opened last year, but everything works and is well maintained. Campsite facilities included a very nice sheltered braai area (with free wood) and a washup basin. It's an ecolodge so they have a compost toilet and (cold) showers. The restaurant is exceptionally good with a creative menu. Can do nice walks on the peninsula. There is very weak Airtel reception at the campsite.

I stayed in a chalet with communal hot showers, and compost toilets. What an amazing place. The hosts are so kind and helpful, I actually felt like I was staying with friends. The beach, and the village are so clean, people so friendly
