Excellent camp site on the water. Lots of parking for vans / RVs. Down and to the left gets you to a beautiful spot on the river.

Great location, it’s too bad people can’t clean up after themselves and take out what they bring in, including their sh@t 💩 bags they left hanging in trees by the boat launch. Pretty disgusting really, have some respect for others and the natural landscape
Report Check-InThere are 3 possible camping spots here as the other 2 were taken. For that we took a left down the old paved road, then right, then left. The road looked a bit tricky but we managed it fine in our dodge sprinter (just drive slowly and watch for the potholes and bumps). This lead to a decent sized clearing next to the water which was perfect for a night.
Report Check-InJust past the bridge at Wahnapitei River, turn left, old paved road, turn left again, room for a few tents, one group though.
We didn't stay, no room, the group that
was there had kitchen tent and couple smaller sleep tents set up. Large gravel area at top when you just turn off ideal for camper for the night.
Great spot by the river! fall asleep to the original white noise machine
Report Check-InReally lovely spot by the river. flat ground for parking an RV or van, but also several clearings with fire pits if you have a tent, or there is someone using the main fire pit. Someone has put a box with a toilet seat on it. PLEASE do NOT use it. it is upstream of the water access and too close to the river. If you need to go, dig a hole 40 m away from the water. Anyways really awesome spot.
Report Check-InGreat spot - turn left just after the bridge (if heading West) and then take two more lefts on the dirt road to end up at the boat launch, about 50m upstream from the rapids. There's a nearby cabin or camp on the opposite bank about 100m upstream - we could just about see their campfire at night. Other than the soothing noise of the rapids, it's a totally silent spot for a night or two. Thanks Meg and Steve for the recommendation.
Report Check-InBoat launch is below the rapids. We found a spot down the same road, but above the rapids. There’s a trail connecting the campsites with lots of fire pits overlooking the rapids on the way. We have a 20ft trailer and couldn’t quite turn around there, but backing out was easy enough.
