Large Flat Area off 180 | Wild Camping

one corner is being used as a dump. other areas seemed ok. I was there and tired so I stayed 1 night but other apps show this as all private land. I realize many have stayed here but I won't use this spot again. Cows were near by and yes, you have to watch for cow poop.

Very very trashy. Found a spot to park that didn’t have trash directly underneath, but was constantly worried about driving over a hidden piece of glass. It is a large flat area. No one else was there when we were and no one bothered us throughout the night. Lots of trains went by but that wasn’t so bad. Great night sky. No service for US cellular.

Nice, quiet, clean, easy to get to. I was alone. 15 min to the Petrified Forest entrance, 15 min to restaurants. Very little passing traffic.

arrived in dark and place was crowded with cows, barely found free spot. good for big rig though, but spent a day at canyon spot and that was awesome. very windy though

Great spot for the night. A few cars drove by in the evening but no one disturbed us all night. We were the only ones here.

We did have a small rattlesnake near us that our friend almost stepped on, so be cautious of those and use a flashlight if you’re outside at night.

Grand emplacement plat, range ouvert donc entourés par des vaches. Il y a un peu de réseau internet. Beaucoup de déchets par terre.
Nous étions seuls cette nuit.
Bon endroit pour se mettre quand il pleut.

Really beautiful area to spend a couple of nights. Yes, there is some garbage around, as others have stated, but I just drove a little further away and it was fine. Gorgeous sunsets! Super quiet. Very close to the Petrified Forest National park. Stayed here for two nights in a 25-ft converted shuttle bus. Road is great to get in and out of. Very flat. Would definitely stay again and I do recommend. Excellent T-Mobile service and used my hotspot with no problem. Yay!

We stayed here for two night on our 25’ skoolie. We had no issues getting in or getting out. The road itself is easy and flat.

There was SO much trash, broken glass and other large pieces of debris. Kinda appears that it is a dumping ground of sorts.

It’s close to the south entrance of Petrified Forest so it was worth it for a day or two.

We were visited by cows during the night.

Yes, trash likely from locals (bed frame, scrap metal, oil containers) but it did the job. Around 8pm there was a man yelling about campers and trash but he drove on.

great open space. there’s a bit of trash but you can easily get around it. only a few cars passed by the nearby road while i was there. one other skoolie.

very quiet spot close to the Petrified Forest NP & Holbrook. we arrived about 6:30pm and there was one other van but we parked away from them. then about 8:30pm a car drove in and drove all around for 15 minutes before finally parking. just a note: don't drive around when you see other people using the area too, it's weird.

Open space, quiet. One other person nearby but plenty of space to spread out. Close to Petrified Forest.

Great quiet spot off 180. There is some trash in some parts but it was easy to find an area that was clean. Any sized rig can get here no problem.

Good place to stay, Overrall. Like they said, LOTS of trash. Pick up your trash when you leave people. Looks like it was used as dumpster. (Atleast Where I was) some glass laying around on the ground, be careful. Made it there in a Honda Civic, just a gravel road with dirt road pull offs, some more rough than others.
Cozy for the night though, wasn’t busy at all when I was there . Would recommend. Cows might visit, saw footprints right at my car the next morning. Road name is old woodruff road

Nice road and lots of spots for all size vehicles to stop over for the night. There are softer areas in the ground the further out you go, so maybe don’t venture out too far if you don’t have 4WD.

Do locals use this place as a dump? Lots of broken glass, car parts, old appliances, carpet, etc down the way. Also saw a group of cows wandering around. Their poops are everywhere too, but I prefer that to the garbage.

As others have said, flat and open and some trash around. Excellent road getting in, easy for big rigs and small cars. Decent AT&T.

large paved area suitable most any sized rig overnight off the highway on dead end road so little local traffic some highway noise from 180 is trashed now
as a member of the international trash pickers coalition
I'll do my best to leve it much cleaner than it is

Arrived after sunset. When you turn off 180, watch out for cattle, go slow. Easily accessible, level. 25' low travel trailer, no problem. Spot looks
clean, wl see in morning. Great spot for overnight.

Perfect spot to visit Petrified Forest NP from. Cows came pretty close by in the morning. There were two other campers at spots nearby. Unpaved road to get in, and some of the other spots marked on this road on iOverlander are difficult to get in without high clearance. This spot is easy, flat and big! Careful of some broken glass if you have dogs or kids. Road is called Old Woodruff Rd.

Not as bad as I thought it would be! There is trash, but not everywhere - you should be able to find a spot without it or better yet.. just pick as much up as you can!
The road getting here was pretty good! I don't know if it would be after/during rain though.

Lots of room to park. Be carful where you pull in lots of broken glass and metal in some spots. Otherwise a perfect and quiet spot!

Flat easy access area. Very close to road, fully visible. There is also a TON of trash, the worst I’ve probably every seen. This means glass and who knows what else all over.

Easy to find, and spacious. Please keep the place clean and pack it out. It’s a nice view.
