Really nifty little campsite just beyond the Ashton observatory.
12 self-registered sites for $7/night as of this writing. Each site has a table & fire pit. Some sites are more level than others. But they're plenty big for a large vehicle.
Decent LTE reception with AT&T.
Check-out is at 4pm.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Arrived on a Saturday, only 2 other campers here. Seems they’ve added 2 more sites. Great little inexpensive campground for $7 til 4pm.
Report Check-InEnter through Ashton-Wildwood County Park on Google Maps. There is a home that sells firewood right before the entrance, $6 for a bundle. The place has 12 self-serve reserve spots with bathroooms nearby. Fire ring and picnic table. Solid place if you’re passing through.
Report Check-In10 campsites but only a few are level. We liked #1 because it was level, big, and private. When you enter the park just keep driving and pass the observatory. the only bathroom we saw was at the observatory but it's a long walk to the campsites. There was a shower in the bathroom. There is a water spigot behind the bathrooms. We screwed off the bottom cap thingy to screw our hose into and fill our water tank on our RV. We have a 25ft trailer. I think the campsite could hold up to a 30 ft beyond that you may have trouble getting out. there was a playground. $7 a night.
Report Check-InThe location of the entry to the park is at this address. 8717 W 122nd St N, Mingo, IA 50168. When you enter go to the left, then go left again to enter the campground. Some of the sites are not level. Otherwise a nice campground.
